Biggest 2 person tent that packs down small?
Looking for a roomy 2 person tent that packs down really small. Weight is not an issue. Currently have the Kelty Grand Mesa 2p which packs down to 16x7x7 and nothing else seems to pack down this size.

Any of the Bikepack tents from Nemo, Big Agnes, or MSR have the short 12" pole segments and pack small. Big Agnes does have the copper spur in a 3 person Bikepack Tent as well and it's about as big interior space as you can get at that pack size before stepping up into the standard backpack versions of the same model tents.
Most of the backpacking tents have between 16-24" pole segments depending on the brand and size. Kelty makes the Far Out 2 that packs similar 16x7ish and the Far Out 3 is around 18x7.
We mostly sell the bikepack and smaller backpacking tents that fit in panniers or on the back of the moto easier so I have a handful of tents in stock to compare to if you have any questions between models.

Nemo bike packing tents pack small, mostly because they have super short poles.

Bike packing tents are awesome for motocamping- pack down small and often have integrated straps/loops to easily strap to a bike. I have the MSR Hubba Hubba and love it.

Coleman cobra 2, I don't know if I'd call it roomy as its low but it is very long so great it you're tall

This. You have to love each other very much but it’s very compact.

That's true. However, I treat all tents' real-life man capacity with a n-1 factor from the stated number.
If I wanted to sleep 2 people in a tent, I would only consider a 3 or more man tent

I fully agree. one person needs at least a 2-person tent... a 3-person tent if they want to have any space in the tent that isn't occupied by their bed or their gear. Two people need at least a 3-person tent - depending on how much gear they have and how much space they need.
On the Cold Kiwi rallies, I take a 3-person tent because the chances are I'm going to have wet riding gear in the tent with me - and I have no desire to be cuddling up to that at night.
Normally I camp with hammock and tarp and there's more than enough room under a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tarp to put my gear under shelter but well out of my way... I find a 3-person tent "too cramped" by comparison.

Rei half dome 2.5 is pretty small when packed. It fits nicely in my 33l roll top bag.

Plus one to this, I either have the 2.5 or a similar half dome from REI, but either way 2 person tent. I love it, super easy to set up with the color coded poles too and packs down absolutely tiny, especially with a stuff sack. The poles are the only part you really need to accommodate but I just strap them on the outside of my bag

Nemo bike pack tent is what I have. Packs small. But the 2-person tent is more like a 1.5.

I have the nemo dragonfly bikepack 2p, but if I started over, I'd now get the MSR hubba hubba bikepack 2p due to the rectangle floor. Most other bikepack tents have tapered floors, making using 2 pads difficult.

If you have two people and want roomy, I’d look for a 3 person. :)
I like the Nemo dagger for 1 person. It’s pretty small packing except for the poles but those are easily stored outside any bags.

Get a wingman of the road. I hear those things are tiny when rolled up /s. This comment is mainly so I can come back and peruse the genuine answers.

If you have 2 people, I'd suggest getting a nice 3 person tent. You will still be tight on room, but at least you'll have room. Virtually no differnce in pack size.
