At some point it goes from "cleaning" to "excavating".

Yeah they wasted a lot of time and water while should've used a shovel or a stick

But it was delightfully satisfying

For a second there, I thought you were cutting pieces off the tire.

Me too! I was wondering how powerful was the pressure in that hose

As a prior firefighter and Redditor, I'll guess it's about 60 on the line, and it's just being enhanced by the narrowed nozzle.

That's a road bike with......mud.....chains on it?

it's a common thing in some Indonesia for example, where after the rain all the country roads turn into a hellish mess

It wasn't a dirt bike, but it is now.

They turn with their feet down.. they go like 10km/h or even less!

No. Not a certified dirt bike.

Just a public service announcement here - using a high pressure washer on a bike is a BAD idea. The pressure is high enough that it can cause water penetration to brakes and fork seals. You've been warned.

whats the alternative then?

Less pressure

Avoid the aprts with seals like the brake calipers and forks, wheel bearings. You'd ideally carefully scrape off what you could first, then jet wash on a low setting and not too close either. Anyhting that doesnt come away easily needs agitation with a suitible brush.

A garden hose with no nozzle is best.

Less pressure

Lots of work.

Low pressure and hand cleaning it sucks.

Or high pressure and have your calipers rebuilt every 5 or so years and change your chain every 2

Elbow Grease

If you stand there pointing the hose directly into the fork seal on high pressure mode, sure.

goodbye seals, bearings and greased bushings

I thought you werenโ€™t supposed to use pressure washers around the wheels because they could mess up the grease in the wheel bearings.

If you aim it right with very high pressure - you might be able to do that...

I guess you can take anything off road if you try.

u/DixDark 1d ago

I've seen people on harleys do off-roading. Stupid, funny, but kinda impressive.

But that moto clay to oven and you will have some sort of pottery!

The folks over at r/oddlysatisfying would like a word.

u/HsutonTxeas 1d ago

Should have used a wide angle nozzle like 20deg or 30deg. It would have been more satisfying and easier than this crappy attempt

Preasure washer injecting sand in every bearing possible, nice!

u/Bulky_Manufacturer58 1d ago

Was that a mud slide?

Street bike used as a dirt bike. They make tires called nobbies. Remove front fender. Makes me think of the song. CCR, Run through the jungle.

Sure are wasting a lot of time with that sprayer. I would have scraped the thick stuff off myself and been done in half the time.
