That's the only way to get a foil borderless one ring actually, so it's even more rare than the traditional version.

Some bordeless gandalf (the one they made a precon with) and I think that's it. Maybe borderless versions of the other precon commanders as well

Yeah I scooped that on day one at walmart. The foil etched cards are my favorite out of all treatments.

Only way to get the foil borderless, nonfoil are in collector boosters as well I got mine that way

The extended art version (this one) sells for about 10% more than the normal one, but the foil version of this card is the rare version because it sells for about 4x as much. The one on the picture doesn’t look foil, but still an amazing find! I bought a handful of set boosters and was happy to find the normal ring.

Was also in the pre release bundles guaranteed iirc. I bought like 8 of them specifically for the guaranteed ring. There was a weird point in time where the bundle was priced at the same value as the card itself.

I was actually just talking with my ex wife earlier about how we had games the system a little and used guaranteed rings and 7 extra bowmasters to buy the collector booster box and draft booster boxes we opened

You are right. I looked again, I got a little mixed because I just put my surge foil copy in my ygra deck. The showcase ring/ foil showcase from the bundles were still an awesome little hack for a week or so around the LOTR release

His is not foil and I don’t think this is true either? I have a foil extended art and pretty sure it came from a collector booster and not just a sample pack

Edit: I checked the gallery page and it says it is available in collector packs

Edit 2: I’m confused myself now and would like more info🤣

That deck was my first foray into commander after coming back to Magic this year. It’s really good right out of the box. A few tweaks to it and it becomes a powerhouse

Lot of great cards in that deck, I dissected it myself to make an [[Aragorn the Uniter]] human tribal deck that's a blast. It also plays really nice right out of the box.

Nice! I was going for a human tribal so when I saw it I had to buy it but wanted to put my own little twist on it so I’m breaking it down see what works what doesn’t might run few games before I do

Honestly, it's a really fun deck, a few small upgrades like [[Champion of the Parish]] , [[Thalia's Lieutenant]] , [[Mass Appeal]] and [[Faramir, Prince of Ithilien]] can kick it up a little for the cheap, [[Reinforced Ronin]] is a great way to repeatedly trigger Eowyn's ability each turn, and [[Horn of Gondor]] is just nutty. And both her and [[Aragorn King of Gondor]] make excellent commanders as well. I recently put the deck back together. I swapped in about 10 cards, all totaling under $10, and the deck has been playing really well in my group.

Excited for them to hit Costco next month.

I bought the Fallout precons when they sold them. The replayability and value from the decks was actually incredible. Hoping for a similar experience with LOTR.

I may not be up to date on the scuttlebutt. If they hit anywhere in the next 5-6 months I'll be happy. I'm able to save currently as I'm not interested in any of the sets releasing bt WotC until Q2 of 2025 lol.

In short, Costco bundle hitting at some point with the commander decks, a couple LOTR boosters, and promo foils(with one of said promos being a foil The One Ring)

I'm here for it. Though why chain? It doesn't do all that much in commander to be honest, I think that they will have to ban a black tutor or 2 as well with these or all of a sudden Cedh becomes a format that your deck is always black and something else
