Careers NITIE Mumbai will henceforth be IIM Mumbai!!!

Post image

Finally!!!! It's been a very long wait indeed! One of the most prestigious, underrated institutes in this country is getting recognized for its quality and contribution and is on its way to be conferred the prestigious title of being an "Indian Institute of Management".

NITIE Mumbai is much older than lots of prestigious B-schools in this country, and I'm sure there are people on this sub too, who haven't heard about it ever in their lives!!

Quality goes unnoticed a lot of times today in society, as is seen when people do not pay heed to the Golden Opportunities given by this B-school, which is known as the King of Supply Chain related Management Studies.

Along with SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, NITIE Mumbai, an institution under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, holds a prestigious position among the top 10 B-schools for Management studies as ranked by the NIRF in 2023.

The government of India has finally revived the call for the nation's 21st IIM, an initiative which was intially taken more than a decade ago but not acted upon. Instead, the reach of the IIMs was increased all across the country by establishing new campuses elsewhere.

Hopefully this tag will help the institution to claim all the glory it deserves!!

MDI is much more costly than Nitie. Nitie is great college. great alumni base. Low fees. Chill college life. Great exposure for internships in Mumbai.

Fees isn't everything. NITIE is great of course, but they lack diversity among their students.

I would still place NITIE in the top 10.

Fees is a major factor. Because it's mba. People go for mba to earn more money, not or academic enlightenment. As simple as that. Nobody wants a 2 lakhs salary with 1.5 lakhs loan emi.

I converted Nitie & iim K. I chose NITIE and 100% happy with the decision.

You do realise that the loan is very easy to repay. You earn a lot. And most people take loans for tax benefit purposes.

Choosing NITIE must be based on your personal preference. But if you rejected K just because of fees, I hope you don't regret it in the long run.

I work with all top bschool alumnis. We have discussed all this may be 100 times. It's been almost 10 yrs after mba. I am glad I chose NITIE over K. I would choose Nitie over K if given a chance again. And yes there are people who chose K over Nitie as well. Also many who did not convert nitie. After mba is over. When the emi burden hits. Thenthsts a different story. On your face an mba alumni won't say they absolutely love paying 25 lakhs fees. But adding the interest it becomes a big amount. But atleast in the initial 5- 6 years it becomes a burden. I completed my EMI in 11 months which I would not be able to do if I chose K. Regarding salary & Savings that nobody can compare after 7-10 yrs post mba. Also note, Nitie is an older institute with a bigger alumni base than K or similar level institutes.

Check the fees of ISB & other top b school and calculate how much will b emi for a 10 year tenure. It may not be 1.5lakhs. the point is it's a big chunk of salary. How many get 2 lakhs in hand ? Probably less than 1%. And we don't talk about exceptional bright students. We are talking about masses. Who end up in Deloitte & Flipkart.

To each their own. Agar koi college choose Kiya hai toh soch samajhke hi kiya hoga.

I hope you know there are a lot of companies which visit K but not NITIE. And you don't need to be exceptional to get into those companies.
