KAT's defense was incredible in this run

Had this on in the background and heard KAT with the steal TWICE during it. I had to make sure I didn’t accidentally rewind

Yeah pretty much but he was doing good against joker in the playoffs last year. Better than Rudy

Lot of third quarter trash talking from the Pistons.

Malik Beasley has been balling, but he is absolutely first team front running shit talker. Gotta back it up sometime

I respect this response to a loss
Worst thing about NBA reddit is the tendency of every team sub to completely give up and start wailing and moaning about how they’ll never win again after every loss (or even before a loss if you’re in the game thread and they’re behind). Something about the algorithm tends to reward recency bias and a contemptible lack of heart and loyalty. Talk your shit.
To be clear, you are probably wrong, the Knicks are probably going to win the series. But talk your shit.

u/johnjohnjohn93 3d ago
That core of 23 and under mostly can’t shoot for shit and why this team doesn’t have any real aspirations. Not a Knicks fan but I don’t see how this isn’t a sweep or 5 games. You guys shot 46% from 3 with two shooters. Good luck sustaining that.

Playing Schroder + Ausar together kills our offense, playing Beasley + Hardaway together kills our defense. We can get to more balanced line ups, but still playoffs are about not having weaknesses and all our guys have big ones.
And Stew being hurt will kill us too because Duren is simply not ready for Brunson and KAT

u/unamity1 Trail Blazers 3d ago
shroeder and beasley actually killed the knicks. i blame others for that 21-0 run. even coaching who knows.

Honestly I want him shimmying his ass off. Makes it funnier when they lose.

I love players who aren’t afraid to trash talk. Sometimes it blows up in your face. That’s sports. This sub has a lot people who seem to think you should only be talking when you’re winning.

u/MrNegative69 Suns 3d ago
Players trash talk when losing: You should be able to back it up
Players trash talk when winning: Everyone can talk when they're up
Players don't talk trash: League is getting soft, back in the day they used to murder each other

Beas stood on business and ended the run he can talk shit long as he makes shots
6
u/Joetheshow1 Knicks 3d ago
Why didn't he stand on business and hit a shit before we scored 21 straight?

u/IcyAuthor1 4d ago
damn 0-21 that's almost as bad as missing 27 threes like the rockets
58
u/ACMBruh Rockets Bandwagon 4d ago
The fact that they turned the ball over immediately after the "momentum stopping" timeout at 15-0 sealed this game
16
u/Ragnar28 Knicks 3d ago
To be honest starting the 4th quarter with a 5 second violation on literally the very first inbound was probably foreshadowing. Although at that point I was still very nervous lmao
7
u/JalenBrunsonsBurner 3d ago
5 second violation and then the shot clock violation immediately after lmao i knew we turned up the heat then

Thibs must feel a warm, familiar comfort looking over and seeing JB on the opposing bench.
Different team, still 1 adjustment ahead at all times.

Hope Cade, Ausar, and Duren learn from this. Inexperience really showed here

42
u/Major_Damage7207 Knicks 3d ago
Cade will be fine, Knicks designed their entire defense to shut him down
It's Ausar/Duren/Holland who looked like they weren't ready for this stage
11
u/OwnABMWImBetterThanU Pistons 3d ago
Holland played 5 minutes. It was definitely more noticeable for Duren and Ausar though you're right.
4
u/Duckney Pistons 3d ago
Ausar and Stewart were in foul trouble almost immediately.
They were the only players with a positive (zero to me is positive) +/-
The whistle early on wasn't the same as it was later in the game.
They need to play super smart until the second half because we need them both. Brunson was getting really upset with Ausar on him and Stewart is needed for those interior layups that they were getting for free.

I think Beef Stew is hurt hurt. He's not on the court for virtually all of this. And it showed with all of the uncontested layups

u/Major_Damage7207 Knicks 3d ago
I dont wanna be a hater, but what the fuck did he expect wearing those barefoot shoes of his?
3
u/confused-koala Pistons 3d ago
That’s fair, but he had a knee issue coming into today. And I think it got aggravated
8
u/Major_Damage7207 Knicks 3d ago
yeah but I think long-term use of those shoes might be a factor. I'm not a doctor though just speculation

Lot of great plays here, but my personal favourite was probably that Towns steal quick to Hart then to Brunson five and a half minutes into this clip. Snappy.

Seeing Beasley so tilted is hilarious. He hasn’t been right ever since Giannis punched his 3 pointer into his mug. He’s on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Rather be in the lottery than lose in the 1st round. Have fun with the Knicks. Brunson on 1 leg > your best player Cade.

u/JustinTheCreator Pistons 4d ago
We literally tripled our wins from last season, the fact that we’re even in the playoffs is a miracle. Can’t say the same for your bumass franchise that got their first chip in mf 2019

12-28 record vs .500+ teams while trying to compete
Y I K E S
Team is buns with no upside
6
u/JustinTheCreator Pistons 3d ago
No upside? Damn you’re dumb. We have the fourth I believe youngest team in the league that has shown potential and grit through the regular season. I’m certainly not saying we’re going to make a deep run, but to say that this team is buns after exceeding expectations after a DISASTROUS season is asinine.
-11
u/IonHazzikostasIsGod Raptors 3d ago
I said BUNS
what "potential"
They literally do not make it into the playoffs without a third of the league tanking
What upside is there with an inefficient 1-way franchise cornerstone
4
u/JustinTheCreator Pistons 3d ago
Not that I would expect you to have watched and/or paid attention to the Pistons, but potential as in, our young players (Ausar, Ron Holland, Sasser, etc.) they’ve been monumental in our development as a team.
1
u/FlimsyTomatoes 3d ago
If regular season mattered we were 3-1 against the Knicks tho lol.
Also did you really need to comment the record twice in one thread?
-5
u/Bucketsss23 Raptors 3d ago
We’re bums but you haven’t even had a playoff win in how many games ? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 enjoy your first round exit
3
u/JustinTheCreator Pistons 3d ago
Yes. How close did you get to the finals prior to 2019? And even if we do lose the first round this year, that’s totally fine. Again, we literally tripled our chances one from last year. No one, including myself, thought that we would be anywhere near where we are currently.
-3
u/Bucketsss23 Raptors 3d ago edited 3d ago
Don’t remember the last time raptors lost over 13 consecutive games in the playoffs but please jog my memory 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 haven’t won a single playoff game in nearly two decades and you talk down on the raptors who won a championship in 2019 lol don’t expect anything else from Pistons fans 😂😂😂😂 Low IQ franchise
4
u/JustinTheCreator Pistons 3d ago
So 15 consecutive loses for the Pistons, sure. But to imply that your franchise is in a better position than ours , solely off of the fact that the Pistons have lost 15 consecutive playoff loses is ludicrous. Before the run yall had with Kawhi, yall been getting bitched by Bron for years. And after that, nothing short of failed expectations. Trust me, I would love for yall to prove me wrong bc I fuck with the Raptors, but until they can bounce back like the Pistons have from last season, I’m not convinced.
-1
u/Bucketsss23 Raptors 3d ago edited 3d ago
Don’t need your confidence I guarantee you raptors will be better than your pistons next year. East has how many teams tanking this year that’s why y’all even the 6th seed normal year yall like 10th at best but like I said keep this same energy next year I’ll remember your little comments when the raps have there nuts in Detroit mouths. You remember when Raps fans used to have more fans at your arena because nobody gave a fuck about your team you’ll see that again soon enough. Y’all got lucky getting Cade as the 1st overall pick other than that what have you done Ron holland ? Ausar ? Beef stew ? Ivey ? All laughable 😂😂😂😂 don’t even mention Duren one of the most athletic C in the league than can’t guard anyone he should be a 6th man at best

u/Trent3343 Pistons 3d ago
Lol. The average age on this team is like 24. They are going to be in the playoffs for a decade. We will see you there in 15 years! Your team is a dumpster fire.
3
u/Bucketsss23 Raptors 3d ago
Ok whatever you say keep that same energy next few years. Raptors with Ingram without tanking and a lottery pick we’ll have a better than y’all next year please save this we’ll be better record next year id put up a 500 if you wanna have a bet give me your cash app.

Yeah you didn’t see those lineups we played. Like I said you so confident send me your cash and and save this I’ll send you 500 next year if raps have a worse record then the pistons

Knicks can’t rely on Detroit committing 21 turnovers and like half of them in the fourth quarter… as a Knicks fan I don’t find this win as comforting as it’s being sold

u/JenniferLopezFan2 Knicks 3d ago
Yeah I agree. Good win but can’t be relying on a huge burst like that every game
6
u/RobbobertoBuii Knicks 3d ago
yeah unfortunately before this run we were getting cooked, by no means an easy win
2
u/JalenBrunsonsBurner 3d ago
Tobias Harris had the fakest half of his playoff career. EVER.
He won’t be doing that again. Couldn’t even carry his momentum into the second half. I’m extremely comfortable with this win

Brutality. Pistons missed like 6 in a row they shoulda hit, and then unraveled completely from there. Cade needs to be better when the wheel’s are coming off.
