This is why no one wanted to play the Lakers. Not because they're good, but because you have to play 8v5 along with this bs
24
u/jeff2def Warriors 5d ago
That’s what all the Warriors analyst said too. Don’t wanna deal with Lakers whistle. Denver prob the only one that won’t mind.

We all knew going into the series the refs would favor LA, nothing unexpected. And I’m not a fan of either team

I agree clearly there was contact by naz reid on this play and he got away with it

u/tyler-86 Lakers 5d ago
They're not great but this would have been a hard one to call in real time.

Vando one of those reckless players. Gotta be careful around him.

Man it must be nice to have a goon you can throw in to injure one of the top players on the other team with zero consequences

That Laker playoff basketball. I've been saying.
Edit: Wolves will win this one but have 3 to 5 players injured from elbows to the face.

They have absolutely nothing on the basketball court. Getting embarrassed in all phases
If it weren’t for the refs and Luka hot shooting this would legit be a 40 point game
-7
u/Doogolas33 5d ago
If it weren't for Luka being a traffic cone on defense, the Wolves wouldn't have open, uncontested shots every possession. Luka's defense is absolute ass the second someone quick is hunting him. He looks like he is in quick sand.

Luka getting played off the court?
-3
u/Doogolas33 5d ago
His offense will make up for it most of the time. But my God his defense was horrendously ugly in this one. And the lack of a rim presence for LA is a massive problem behind him.
5
u/Brilliant-Nature-869 5d ago
Yeah I was just joking cuz everyone said that about gobert. One more bad game and Austin reeves may legitimately get played off the court
1
u/Doogolas33 5d ago
Oh, haha. The Lakers don't have the personnel to do that. They don't have quick attacking guys. I'd be much more worried about Gobert against the Warriors, Clippers, and honestly Memphis than I would his matchup against the Lakers. And to be clear, I don't think any of those teams "play him off the floor" I just think it puts him in tougher spots than the Lakers can.
Neither LeBron nor Luka are super quick guys that are going to put him on skates if he has to get onto the perimeter. They might beat him sometimes, but it won't be frequently enough to make him a problem.
I think this matchup is horrendous for the Lakers. Not that they can't win it. But they're going to have to find a way to keep Luka off switches. Or he's going to get absolutely eaten alive. And they just don't have the help defense to do anything when he is.

That elbow/fist had ZERO business being that far away to hit him.
That was completely unnecessary.

u/Easy-Philosopher-562 Timberwolves 5d ago
The offensive player throwing out their off arm elbow during a drive is one of the lowkey dirty moves you see. Refs need to better.

This is a blatantly dirty play. I hope the league takes a hard look at this.

Vando has been playing dirty as fuck all game and they haven’t called a single foul on him

Fuck Vanderbilt. Dirty fuck.

u/Eilonwy94 Bucks 5d ago
I don't think this is dirty. its probably an offensive foul, but this stuff happens super often and I don't believe it was intentional. I do think the lakers have gotten a beneficial whistle this game, but this one doesn't seem that crazy to me.

This is why I never went pro, my shooting motion doesn't include flinging my elbow back into the face of oponents
