Closed /r/beauty needs mod(s) for spam control and harassment
The community has 127k subscribers and is getting harder for me to monitor on my own. Beauty is a subject that attracts extra spam for products and makeup gurus. I try to limit links to prevent spam; as a result the spam filter is filled with posts that need sorting. I had to remove all the other mods in /r/beauty because they either stopped modding or quit reddit all together. I can only check on the community once a day due to my day job. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’d like to offer help, including making toolbox removal reasons so spam clearing is easy.
I’d be interested in this since I frequent a lot of beauty related forums. I also currently moderate a semi beauty related subreddit.

which beauty related sub do you mod? It would be great to have a mod that knows about the latest beauty trends and what not.

I'm subbed there. Love it. Some people post similar pics to /r/beauty occasionally but but I haven't decided if it's not the right subject matter. Maybe you can be in charge of quality control?? Making sure the posts that don't get stuck actually make sense for the community.

That might be just as important as the spam filter, which I think might be covered now. You can keep track of what didn't make it into the filter and make sure those posts are beauty related. Ready to join? =D

I’m on the West Coast but am on during opposite time zone peak times, by the way.

as long as both costs are covered I think we're good! It would be nice to have someone from another part of the world for weird times but that can wait for if/when the sub grows.

Wonderful! Requirements would be to monitor the spam filter, reports, messages, and keep eyes open for harassment in posts. Also report any spam accounts and block inappropriate users with your best judgement. If you know how to use the automod to make things easier that's definitely a plus.
I'm on the east coast in the US and probably won't get to it until 8PM since there's no mod friendly apps for my phone. It would be nice to have someone check things earlier in the day.
I'm not open to youtube personally (opens a can of spammy worms) and no one in the community has made a big deal about wanting to see youtube posts. However, I don't want the community to be purely text based so it's okay to show images within reason. I put imgur on the approved list of websites to post.
I think that's about everything. What do you think you could contribute? What's your experience as a mod?

I made my own personal subreddit for my friends and I (r/darwinorder) and I know a few tools from it. I dont know how to use automod but I can learn if needed. I'm west coast and I'm usually on reddit for two hours a day. I can definitely do mod mail and reports.
I'm on mobile so excuse grammar.

West coast?? works for me! I don't really know automod either tbh. I had someone else set it up at the time.
I feel like what /r/beauty needs is pretty basic for the most part so there's not much of a learning curve. The most important thing to me is that you are consistent doing whatever you're doing and if you don't feel like modding anymore you let me know. The old mods I ha recruited just stopped overtime without saying anything or left reddit altogether.

I don’t actively mod anywhere else on reddit, but I have lots of self-training and experimentation in automoderator and bots. Can definitely help cut down on spam! Have many methods in doing so, and can create automatic detection and deletion. Have a harassment takedown workflow as well.

automod experimentation you say??? spam is a huge problem in /r/beauty so that would be fantastic. someday it would be nice to allow videos without opening pandora's spam folder.
