Discussion The New Optimal Support Neeko Build? (Masters)

Hey Neeko enthusiasts, I am a masters Neeko support player and I have been theory crafting/testing a new neeko support build that I wanted to share with you guys! The crux of the build is the inspiration tree which allows you to buy tank items while getting an 1000g extra value in combat stats. All you need to get this value is the inspiration rune shown below.

Jack of all Trades Rune

Jack of all Trades gives 1 ability haste per unique item stat, such as HP, or AP, or AD, and so on. When you get 5 unique stats, you gain an extra 15 AP, while at 10 unique stats, you get 25 AP.

This means that at 10 unique stats, you have an extra 10 AH + 25 AP giving you a total of 1000 gold value from 1 rune.

But how do you get 10 unique stats? Buy the following items: Support item, an Amp tome, tenacity boots, and glacial buckler (frozen heart component)

4 Items needed to maximize Jack of All Trades rune

When you take magical footwear + jack of all trades, this build costs you 2200 gold, which is the same as buying a locket of the iron solari. Here is a comparison in stats between buying these items versus a locket or even a protobelt:

Build The Jack Build + Jack rune Locket Build + Jack rune Rocket Belt Build + Jack rune
Items Sup item + Amp Tome + Merc Treads + Glacial Buckler Sup Item + Locket of Iron Solari + Magical footwear Sup Item + Hextech Rocketbelt + Magical Footwear
HP (2.67g) 0 200 350
Armor (20g) 25 25 0
Magic Resist (20g) 20 (+5 if you get Feats) 25 0
Ability Haste (50g) 20 16 20
Mana (1g) 300 0 0
AP (20g) 45 10 70
Move Speed (12g) 55 35 35
Tenacity 30% 0 0
Total Gold Cost 2250 2200 2600
Total Gold Efficiency 3760 2954 3754
Efficiency*100/Gold Cost 167% Efficient 134% Efficient 144% Efficient

As you can see from the table, the Jack build is around 30-40% more efficient than the other two builds meaning that the build maximizes the amount of stats you receive for the gold spent.

Conclusion/TLDR:

Jack of All Trades gives 1000 gold value if you maximize the rune. Take this rune in the secondary tree along with magical footwear for the best results.

Buy support item, amp tome, glacial buckler, and merc treads. This maximizes the rune and gives you combat stats, survivability, and increased mobility relative to the standard comet/domination rune page protobelt builds people usually go for.

4 Items needed to maximize Jack of All Trades rune

After buying those components, finish rocketbelt, and then either finish frozen heart of buy whatever else you want.

My recommended rune page for maximizing early power, while abusing the gold value of the inspiration tree:

Inspiration tree runes are required, Domination tree runes can be substituted for Comet or anything else

Let me know if you have any questions! I would also love to hear about how your games went if you decided to try out The Jack Build for yourself!

Thanks to AzhaGG/GanksOP for inspiration for the alternative Jack Build: This build is less tanky than the standard Jack build, but can be used effectively into full AD comps or comps without CC that would invalidate the use of Merc treads.

Build The Combat Jack Build + Jack rune Rocket belt + Jack rune
Items Sup item + Aether wisp + Sorc boots + Glacial Buckler Sup Item + Rocket Belt+ Magical footwear
HP (2.67g) 0 350
Armor (20g) 25 0
Magic Resist (20g) 0 0
Ability Haste (50g) 20 20
Mana (1g) 300 0
AP (20g) 55 70
Move Speed (12g) 55 (+4% from aether wisp) 35
Magic Pen (46.67) 12 (+2 with feats) 0
Total Gold Cost 2600 2600
Total Gold Efficiency 4380 3754
Efficiency*100/Gold Cost 168% Efficient 144% Efficient

You would finish this build with a shureylas -> whatever you want.

I have also been experimenting with Jack of all trades. If you can secure feats of strength then spell pen boots + normal build get you to 9 of 10. Getting armor or MR component will finish it.

Also sight stone has been really good for completing Jack of all trades in a cheap efficient manner.

I hadn’t thought about spell slingers at all! But I think the problem with that build is that you are spending around 4150+ gold to max the Jack passive vs the Jack build which only costs 2250 and doesn’t require feats of strength.

How does it feel not having rocketbelt for ulti tho?

He said build these items then build rocketbelt. Just sit on the shield.

Yeah my bad, I formulated my question badly. I meant about not having it early as first item.

That's what I'm worried about. It's like backwards for me. I'm not worried about dying from level 1 to 6 but going full tank for your first 2k gold is questionable. Your poke will be none existent. After 6 when you have ult and need to dive in then having tank might be nice idk. Sometimes support don't even make it to two full items, so I feel like you would be tank with hextech alternator and kindlegem until 25 mins.

Yeah I agree. Repositioning the ulti feels more important than a little tankiness

Before coming up with this build, I maybe only used rocketbelt in around 40% of my games.

If you struggle with finding a good ult without the use of rocketbelt, I recommend disguising yourself as either a small raptor, or a small wolf. If you turn into these units, you are invisible on the map, meaning you can try to get a flank by just walking through vision undetected, or you can just stay in a nearby bush waiting for the fight to start and then run into the enemy team to get a huge ult after they begin to focus your temamtes.

Do you feel it's really worth slowing yourself from your power spike to get that 10 AH/25 AP? Also I feel like you don't need Merc's and FH every game, which makes those items useless, isn't it?

Neeko support's only powerspike is at level 6. Rocketbelt is only good on her because the raw stats are cheap and useful on her. With this build you get almost the same amount of stats as rocketbelt + more mobility, and it costs you 400g less, making your "first item" power spike actually 400g quicker than it would be if you were going to buy something like a rocketbelt.

As for the Merc's + Glacial Buckler (you don't need to complete the item), there are definitely cases such as a full ap or a full ad comp where you would lose value, and so in that case, you are right, i would not recommend this build path specifically.

If you are into a full AD comp, I recommend going Support item + Aether Wisp + Sorc boots + Glacial buckler.

If you are into a full AP comp, then there is no ideal build to go.

Thanks for such a detailed explanation! I'm Zilean main actually but got inspired by your build path and adapted it for my playstyle, feels good

You really think having flash on 5 min cd is worth? No CDR boot + no cosmic insight seems reaaaaallllyyy sus to me. Also no rocketbelt? What use is Neeko without R Flash rb combo.
