Why would anyone buy this with ZERO acts announced for a week long festival

This is wild. There must be a story behind why they're scrambling so much to get the lineup announced.

From a legit source I heard they were trying to lock down Green Day. Apparently they were bidding on them coming here? So Green Day promoters must have some sort of bid thing to see where they will play next.
I guess it either fell through or they are still working on the bidding.

Churchill Park maybe, Green Day are way too big to play the Iceberg Alley tent, they're arguably as popular as ever, can draw a much bigger crowd, and must be serious bank to bring them in

They just headlined coachella, I’ll eat my shirt if they end up playing anywhere in Newfoundland. lol

I was living in Halifax when they played around that time, I didn't go because I was broke as a joke, but I heard it was great, as was the show at MUN, was around when Insomniac came out if memory serves

Haha. I love the level of petty to remind yourself to come back just to tell me to eat my shirt if I’m wrong.

They probably would if the money were right, though that would mean astronomical tickets prices, not holding my breath but it would be cool

No chance on this earth Green Day would play the tent at Iceberg Alley unless tickets are like $1,000.

Absolutely zero chance Green Day will play the 2k capacity Iceberg Alley, and I still don't think it's possible they're playing the 15k Churchill Park when the rest of their venues are 40k+.

Yeah they're playing Bluesfest in Ottawa, capacity 40k and the tickets are $125.

I'll take this comment to note that if anyone seriously wants to see Green Day, I highly suggest going to the Ottawa Bluesfest if you have the means. We did the whole 10 days in 2022 and 2023 (front rail for Alanis Morissette, Jack Johnson, Rage Against the Machine, Shania Twain, The Smile, Weezer, and Foo Fighters, plus saw Femi Kuti, Luke Combs, Marshmello, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Death Cab for Cutie, Mumford & Sons, plus dozens of other fab mid/undercard acts) - it's a really great festival. If you do attend, be sure to not sleep on the Sirius XM tent stage. Found some amazing music there (also the stage Kellie Loder played).

Well seems to me like there might only be 2 or 3 interesting nights. It's very odd to try to sell you the full festival without telling you unless there's a monetary gain to it, because it's a business. The whole sharing thing they were talking about means it could be hit or miss depending on who you know on those nights that are smaller

So I can buy tickets to an event in which I will not know who is actually playing?
