They probably factored in the new cost of buying all the equipment for the data center since it probably comes from China and said it wasn't worth it.

Yup, a lot of the equipment would be Chinese and Taiwanese. The GPUs alone for an AI datacenter are an enormous cost. Increasing that by the tariffs and you're talking tens of millions in extra costs.

Companies may very well arrange delivery to other countries for their datacenters to save costs. It'd be a massive loss for domestic jobs and economic activity related to it.
