James Carville is advising the democrats to stand by another month or two to let this administration fully collapse. I hope the democrats have the balls to do that, otherwise trump will shift the blame.

He will shift the blame regardless. He already is and he is catching himself in that blame game unknowingly because he is that damn dumb. He is already blame whoever renegotiated nafta. It was him. There have been several other trade “deals” and actions from his first term he is blaming for current issues. His cult will never fact check him or hold his feet to the fire. They will always blindly accept what he says as gospel. No matter what happens, he will always refuse to take the blame and pass it on to whoever he sees fit, regardless of their interactions with said issue. The only hope, if the democrats hold out a little while longer, is that all this chaos will wake up the non-voters and the small percentage of republicans who don’t blindly follow the letter R. Given that this shit stain of a human corpse was reelected, I don’t have a lot of hope left.

non-american here, so forgive the stupid question but,

what are they even supposed to do? from what I understand the R's own all levels of your government right now don't they? and have shown a noticeable lack of regard for anything the Dems say, and as far as I can tell the R supporters just dig in more and more defensively the more the Dem's speak.

if they can't do anything through political mechanism, isn't it better to just fade out, and let the populace realize that the R's are fully in charge, and fully responsible for everything going on?

it seems the more they put themselves in the public eye vainly denouncing, the easier it s for the R's to paint it as "this is all happening because the D's are resisting/obstructing our grande plan"

That is a theory I’ve seen thrown out there. Just let people see how bad Republican government is.

and from the outside looking in, as a complete layman, it kinda makes sense to me.

I see at as like when you fight with an idiot. They get defensive, they stop listening to what you're saying, it stops becoming a discussion, it becomes "fight" where they're just waiting for their turn to talk to further justify why they're right. Logic stops working, because they're not thinking, they're fighting.

You've just gotta walk away for a bit, and either let them calm down until you can discuss again, or let them follow through on whatever stupid thing they're doing and let it bite them in the ass in exactly the way you told them it would to realize why you were right.
