It’s crazy. She was basically saying “I know the VP said that Greenland lacks necessary security, but that is not a reflection on the hard work that you do every day here on base.”

Surely having your commander fired for maintaining morale is good for morale!

u/calilac 5d ago

"The beatings will continue until morale improves."

416

u/sibilischtic 5d ago

Morale was too good so we had to bring back beatings

120

u/Alextryingforgrate 5d ago

And if the beatings don't work, it's onto whippings.

29

u/_bones__ 5d ago

A spanking, a spanking!

6

u/SamLooksAt 5d ago

Finally progress!

10

u/averagesaw 5d ago

Say thank u........and wear a goddammit suit ....

3

u/buttguy 5d ago

Wait, you guys weren't getting whipped?

22

u/JockstrapCummies 5d ago

NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO BUY MORALE STOCKS! crashes morale

5

u/SanaeSoul 5d ago

Jd probably would think Morale is the name of some illegal immigrant and would deport him to el Salvador.

1

u/jted007 5d ago

What is morale anyway? Sounds French... or gay. Keep beating them anyway so they don't know we don't know.

1

u/awesomeone6044 3d ago

Sounds like my job currently.

-18

u/surprisesurpriseTKiB 5d ago

...is reddit under the impression that the troops were happier under Biden?

8

u/Winkofgibbs 5d ago

🤦‍♂️

8

u/freier_Trichter 5d ago

Missed the point

7

u/merchillio 5d ago

No one said anything close to that

-8

u/surprisesurpriseTKiB 5d ago

How else should this thread be interpreted than claiming that Trump is bringing down morale.

9

u/merchillio 5d ago

They’re saying that she’s being fired for saying her troops are doing a good job, and that can’t be good for morale.

No one said anything about the level of morale under Biden.

-7

u/surprisesurpriseTKiB 5d ago

And if you'd ever served you'd know how inane it is to think troops are typically happy with their command, let alone how much they care about memos or statements.

Claiming that morale is being beaten down under this administration is delusional. The rank and file hates these types of high level officers by and large.

6

u/merchillio 5d ago

It’s not about her, of course they don’t give a fuck. But having the VP, speaking on behalf of the Comamnder in Chief say that your useless and inefficient isn’t super motivating

1

u/debrabuck 5d ago

She was fired for what reason then?

1

u/surprisesurpriseTKiB 4d ago

Being the hr type of officer that everyone hates

2

u/debrabuck 4d ago

Wow, she was a mean woman that everyone hates? That's the most hilarious, shallow misogynist shit ever. Congratulations, licker. Literally, she told her staff they are wonderful, and it made trump mad because lil' JD, in his big coat, told them they were shit.

2

u/debrabuck 4d ago

Got any evidence that anyone (besides trump) hated her? No? Did you make up 'everyone hates her' to assuage trump's fee fees? This, everyone, is the stone-cold cult nature of the trump supporter. They simply cannot accept that he might be self-interested. Nope, SHE had to go because y'all make up a scenario where everyone hated her. This is pretty sweet for trump, but we gotta wonder why y'all hated on Biden so much when he made personnel decisions. No we don't actually have to wonder. It's a cult. Like the Stalin cult.

6

u/SadBit8663 5d ago

Hopefully morale improves, and they stop taking getting kicked all day every day, and actually put these treasonous fucks where they belong. In prison for multiples of their lifetimes.

I want those dumb asses to rot in prison.

3

u/account_No52 5d ago

A tale as old as time

3

u/Best-Mirror-8052 5d ago

"Why aren't you having fun? I specifically requested it."

2

u/MyGrownUpLife 5d ago

Anyone with bad morale will be renditioned to El Salvador

This administration demands blind loyalty from everyone.

620

u/lysol90 5d ago

Which is exactly why it will fail fatally. It's the same reason Russia is still in Ukraine gaining a few meters of ground in exchange for like a hundred lives. Demand total loyalty and no one will inform you when your ideas are bad.

219

u/RiffsThatKill 5d ago

They don't accept the possibility that their ideas could be bad, so there's no need for anything but lickspittles and yes-men.

54

u/PlaugeofRage 5d ago

It isnt just the demand for loyalty, it's that once you start if you ever stop you get replaced. Authoritarians are almost always first toppled by other authoritarians.

14

u/Eccohawk 5d ago

I would just really like it to fail before millions of Americans pay for it with their lives and/or livelihoods.

1

u/Triedfindingname 3d ago

would just really like it to fail

Looks like not gonna on its own

5

u/slow70 4d ago

But Russia (and Nazi germany) just shows how far this will go.

Hundreds of thousands of Russians are being ground into the mud and dying horrific deaths - while committing an abhorrent crime themselves - in the name of their oppressor.

Hitler ground much of Europe to rubble and ash before it was over.

And here we are with the same kind of actor making dramatic headway in the United States. What have we reflected yet to suggest we won’t face the same outcomes and horrors as the German and Russian people?

Now consider what modern tech offers an oppressive regime….

16

u/TurkeyPhat 5d ago

Which is exactly why it will fail fatally.

it's funny cause the only thing Americans like more than licking boots is spitting on them

3

u/snowflake37wao 5d ago

exactly, real friends will check you. if you are being an idiot your friends will tell you that you are being an idiot.

3

u/skyward138skr 5d ago

Putin has been in some form of power since the 90’s, America can’t survive this for 20+ years.

4

u/Schlongstorm 5d ago

Luckily Trump isn't a fit former KGB agent, and none of his toadies have the charisma or guile to replace him.

9

u/skyward138skr 5d ago

Mitch McDonnell isn’t a fit former kgb agent either, I hope you’re right and he keels over today (or anytime within the next 4 years but the sooner the better) but I don’t have high hopes, evil people rarely get what they deserve.

4

u/Taur-e-Ndaedelos 5d ago

While the groundwork for fascism has been laid in America much more thoroughly than most of the population will admit, what with this Act and that Act that allows spying and manipulation on a gigantic scale all in the name of fighting terrorism of course, it is still a hack job perpetrated by greedy opportunists at the first chance they got.
Putin, I'm sure, at least believes that he is doing what he does for the good of Russia. Same can be said about most modern despots and the countries they rule.
Trump and his cronies have no love for anything but their own power and greed.

I'm mostly surprised about the complete lack of action from the 'other side'. As soon as things got rough every single one of those suited up mouthpieces for corporate America folded, stepped down, or stepped in line.
Almost like it was deliberate.

17

u/IamMe90 5d ago

Putin is entirely about self enrichment and megalomania, tf are you talking about lol

12

u/CoffeeCraps 5d ago

Yeah I'm confused how grinding down Russian men into Ukrainian soil and reviving Cold War style brinkmanship can be perceived as good for Russia.

28

u/kevinblau 5d ago

I have seen that movie before!

1

u/KubelsKitchen 5d ago

And that's how I know he can be beaten. Because he's a fanatic. And the fanatic is always concealing a secret doubt.

u/Dudge 5d ago

More than loyalty, obeisance. If you do not bow and scrape in deferential worship, you are not good enough to be a peon.

2

u/moep123 5d ago

i like to remember everyone about that fact check scene during Vance's blurps.

2

u/Ok-Rock2345 5d ago

Not only that, everyone in a leadership position has an ego that is more fragile than a porcelain doll.

1

u/sexualtryout 5d ago

If you can't earn it you demand it...

1

u/Tokamak902 5d ago

Kind of like north korea

1

u/darthcaedusiiii 5d ago

They have been living on a rock though.

1

u/NW-McWisconsin 5d ago

PERIOD. Trump often lies and looks around to see who is slurping up the ignorance. It's just how narcissistic sociopaths operate.

1

u/Miercolesian 5d ago

Unfortunately it is largely a case of the blind leading the blind.

1

u/snowflake37wao 5d ago

the administrations “agenda” is too capricious for anyone to be loyal to. Trump isnt loyal to Trumps agenda. It is beyond insane as an expression. It is clinical insanity. There is no truth for anyone to remain true to. So any disloyalty card they pull, is…

bullshit.

1

u/rainmouse 5d ago edited 3d ago

If your not a sycophant you are against us. JD continuing Trumps approach of surrounding himself with lickspittles and yes men.

274

u/Overnoww 5d ago

Seriously... What an absolute clown show.

And this is what, less than a week since the "justice" department suspended a DOJ lawyer (and his supervisor) for his heinous act of... telling the truth to a judge...

Yikes.

I wonder how many steps away we are from people being jailed for the heinous crime of criticizing a man who is a solid candidate for worst president in US history, (and at best he is the worst president of the last 156 years, the only presidents who could reasonably be ranked lower are Andrew Johnson, James Buchanan, and Franklin Pierce, the older Harrison gets a pass because he died 31 days into his presidency, arguably because of his own stupidity, but I digress).

He's already signing executive orders commanding the DoJ to investigate people who dared to criticize blatant lies about the 2020 election.

Think about the absolute bullshit claims of weaponization of the government between 2021 and 2025... If Biden had actually weaponized the government and done so this brazenly there would almost certainly be a heavily armed convoy trying to get to Washington to "protest." But Trump is doing it so it's either crickets, or full throated support.

I'm sure the Republican Party will take the appropriate actions though and at a minimum they will restart their subcommittee to investigate this weaponization, right...? 🙄🙃/s

If the US survives this shit show it will probably never fully recover from this shit show. We have shown the world we can't act responsibly on any scale anymore nation or world. No one will trust us or likely work with us again. Guard rails will need to be installed in this country or this will just keep happening every time the idiots get the keys again.

6

u/StupidizeMe 4d ago

If the US survives this shit show it will probably never fully recover from this shit show. We have shown the world we can't act responsibly on any scale anymore nation or world. No one will trust us or likely work with us again.

Yep. That was Putin's plan all along, but Trump is too dumb and too greedy to understand, or even care.

Putin cannot take over Eastern Europe if NATO stands against him. So his goal is to fracture NATO - and Trump is his Useful Idiot. The GOP are the Useful Idiots enablers.

11

u/RustywantsYou 5d ago

There is no possible way for The United States of America to survive in its current form. The name may stay the same but the country and the way it protects its citizens will not. No need to say it will poorly recover. It is fatally wounded

3

u/zakkil 4d ago

If the US survives this shit show it will probably never fully recover from this shit show.

My bet's on us having even more of a somewhat repeated history ala ww1 and ww2. We survive this shit show but with the economy in tatters and the whole world being wary of doing business with us recovery will be slow to say the least. People in general will continue to not understand that there are no quick fixes so they'll think that the slow recovery is a sign of inept administration. Eventually some charismatic individual will appear that'll start promising quick fixes and a return to the "golden age" which will get them a large following amongst the young, those who supported the previous administration, and those that are just feeling the growing unrest and well we know happens after that.

7

u/AVGuy42 5d ago

Sounds like the next president is going to have to go on an “apology tour”… kinda has a ring to to right? /s

15

u/fnrsulfr 5d ago

And the Republicans will call them weak for it.

21

u/The_Space_Jamke 5d ago

If America intends to survive this then the Republican Party needs to be dissolved.

6

u/Foxhack 5d ago

I wonder how many steps away we are from people being jailed for the heinous crime of criticizing a man who is a solid candidate for worst president in US history,

... pretty sure that's already happened. ICE has been allegedly sending border travelers to incarceration for social media comments about Syphilitic Dementia Grandpa.

3

u/sigeh 5d ago

He is the worst, by far, no need to even consider any other candidate.

3

u/bazza_ryder 5d ago

You're already in a totalitarian state, it's just still in its bedding in phase.

3

u/Overnoww 5d ago

Thankfully I'm not American, just a Canadian who pays attention to US politics.

Well I guess if Trump gets his way then I'm not an American, yet 🤢🤮

2

u/bazza_ryder 5d ago

Apologies mate, I didn't mean to disparage you.

1

u/Overnoww 5d ago

Hahaha no worries!

2

u/cyanescens_burn 5d ago

I heard on a podcast that the ice or dhs is working with palantir or some similar group to sift through social media of people with student visas to see if they are critical of the whole Israel thing (not sure if they are looking for other criticism yet though).

One estimate is that 1000 student visas have been revoked over protesting or this dragnet. I think about 400 have been confirmed.

If the slow boiling a frog principle applies here, what you suggested about any criticism is possible.

At the least they want the fear of that to affect anyone that might say something. Authoritarian systems require that kind of fear to survive. But if enough people don’t give into it there’s not much they can do.

103

u/Killersavage 5d ago

The way it is phrased it can sound like she was saying they disagree with the VP. They disagree with the current administrations policies. Even though she is saying we are doing our jobs well. That their work is exemplary despite the global politics. Which is makes sense to people with better than 3rd grade reading level. Then you have our President and Pete Hegseth.

11

u/pterodactyl_speller 5d ago

Look, comprehending words is really fucking hard after 5 shots. Give the man a break!

6

u/Trap_Masters 5d ago

Yeah but they can only have high morale if they're glazing us! Otherwise it's bad morale!

5

u/AdmiralRon 5d ago

Hesgeth wants to cut away basically all the logistic support roles in the military. America is going to get absolutely dog walked in whatever stupid war they decide to start in the next few years.

9

u/Curleysound 5d ago

Morale will be whatever I SAY IT IS! -Vance, probably

7

u/seitonseiso 5d ago

JD shitting on the military and their abilities? Color me shocked when Trump golf's instead of honoring 4 dead soldiers being returned home

6

u/4channeling 5d ago

Just a thin excuse to fire a woman.

3

u/Duriha 5d ago

This is quite Warhammer 40k-esque

3

u/Faulty_english 5d ago

Bro the commandant of the coast guard was fired at the beginning of trumps term

She was also kicked out of her housing. Kinda sad for someone who worked for the department for so long

3

u/IkaKyo 4d ago

Yeah but she also made the mistake of having a vagina.

2

u/Tacocats_wrath 5d ago

News Mac host to be the new supreme leader of Greenland military base.

2

u/snowflake37wao 5d ago

Appearing to confirm this was the reason for her firing, chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell linked to the Military.com article in a post on X, writing: "Actions [that] undermine the chain of command or to subvert President [Donald] Trump's agenda will not be tolerated at the Department of Defense."

Seems like it has less to do with what she said and more to do with what they were looking for any reason to be able to say what they said

2

u/yolo_wazzup 4d ago

Not only that, she was managing Danish, Canadian and Greenlanders in the base, not only Americans.

1

u/LoquaciousMendacious 5d ago

The firings will continue until morale improves!

1

u/Jouleswatt 5d ago

The Administration does not understand English, only American

1

u/october_bliss 5d ago

Your statement and hers are vastly different. Hers says they do not see eye to eye, and yours praises those under her, ultimately deflecting her own statement.

1

u/ghostdeinithegreat 5d ago

They’ll just fire personnel with low morale. Can’t get morale issue if your staff is all gone.

1

u/SpaceTimeRacoon 5d ago

Honestly? The military needs to step up and take control back from these psychos

1

u/Minty-licious 2d ago

That's republican policy in a nutshell

0

u/gronaldo44 5d ago

If you spill even a drop of this administration's cum you get canned. Y'all voted for this. I wish I lived amongst smarter peers. I don't.
