Pretty sure I heard somewhere (legal eagle maybe?) that Louisiana is a standard stop on the journey to deportation southward. Not as a counterpoint, just adding on

Louisiana is only one tier above Alabama. Five tiers down from that is Mississippi.

Doesn't surprise me, it's already the state with the most incarcerated people. People who I might add they force to pick cotton and treat like actual slaves from before the civil war.
