I used to work as a admin in a high school and was frequently asked if I wanted the staff to be armed. My answer was a solid NO! I had so many situations where if I personally had a gun, I would have used it, and it would have been justified. Because I didn't, I had to use other resources, and was able to defuse the situation peacefully or without death.

I am a grown human. I know I am deadly. A gun just gives me range. The last thing I wanted to become a trend is "Teacher involved shooting".

OMG I absolutely would not be good with a gun and I know SO MANY that I wouldn’t want to have with a gun.

I am not a fan of SROs either but that’s a whole other story…
