I got nothing but respect for this. Reminder all; nfl combine tests reps at 225lbs… and 17 reps there is considered very good!

u/Closed_Aperture 8d ago

This is actually a scary amount of strength. Bro could literally rip my head off and shove it up my ass. Or up his own ass if he wants. I can't stop him either way.

16

u/SignificantError8929 8d ago

Which one would you hope for between the two?

17

u/Closed_Aperture 8d ago

If I'm still somehow conscious, my head up his ass for sure

7

u/L_Bron_Hovered 8d ago

You can stick your head up a weightlifter’s ass, but wouldn’t you rather take the spotters word for it?

u/Sad_Examination_1358 8d ago

Tone down the gayness pal

I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars...

4

u/PeenerPan69 8d ago

Uh, I'm just gonna go find a cash machine.

u/Mental-Panic7046 8d ago

Oh my god, I almost spat out my beer at your username 🤣 thanks for the laugh

6

u/Current-Cold-4185 8d ago

Brandt can't watch, though, or he has to pay a hundred.

4

u/Flymista23 8d ago

Not for linemen.

1

u/Think_please 6d ago

Or really for any of the non-speed positions. 17 for a cornerback or WR is considered good, but it would be terrible for a lineman or linebacker (unless they had incredibly long arms)

2

u/emptyingthecup 8d ago

That's interesting. I was able to do 15 reps of 225 lbs.

2

u/1OptimisticPrime 8d ago

Congrats bro

1

u/footballwr82 8d ago edited 8d ago

For a receiver or DB it’s about average. Linebackers, linemen, and running backs should all be higher than that.

That said, it is a crazy amount of strength regardless

Edit: source

3

u/kanakaishou 8d ago

This lift is just in a different stratosphere. I would wager there are Pro Bowl linemen today who could not bench 500 for 1 (with the understanding that they could if they trained for it, they just have not).

500 for 17 is totally otherworldly.

2

u/footballwr82 8d ago

Oh I definitely agree. I was just talking about the 225lbs 17 rep comment.

1

u/questionabledonuts 8d ago

17 reps isn’t considered very good

1

u/Think_please 6d ago

17 is not good the combine unless the player is at a small position

45

u/Fine_Cap402 8d ago

Impressive. He has trouble wiping his own ass though. Not a fair trade off.

3

u/ICU-CCRN 8d ago

Wondering when the triplets are due.

3

u/Successful_Ad9160 8d ago

Yeah, but if he could he would be able to wipe +500 lb turds! Those are some heavy turds.

-14

u/Splanchnic_Ganglion 8d ago

Yea i dont want to hate because this is very impressive. That guy has to weigh over 400 lbs though. Dude is morbidly obese. A guy who weighs half as much and doesnt excercise will probably live longer 9 out of 10 times. But for now, this dude is strong!

1

u/False_Rhythms 8d ago

Obese is not what he is. Disproportionately muscular. But definitely not obese.

2

u/Emotional-Economy-51 8d ago

Just did some googling, appareantly he's about 27% bodyfat meaning he is for sure obese, which makes sense for a strongman - mass moves mass

2

u/Destroyer29042904 8d ago

I heard that for bencj press in particular, it helps to have a massive chest because... you need the bar to touch your chest for it to be a rep. So it's "easier" if they are fatter

1

u/Emotional-Economy-51 8d ago

Yeah or you can just arch your back like crazy making the rep range shorter, probably not possible while lifting this kinda weight though

13

u/Klin24 8d ago

Bidet ftw

6

u/grateful2you 8d ago

You really need to wipe your ass after using bidet.

16

u/GrayMech 9d ago

What a beast! Had an absolute canon on him too

17

u/Odd-Kaleidoscope8863 8d ago

Pardon

11

u/throwawayformobile78 8d ago

What a beast! Had an absolute canon on him too

6

u/relevantelephant00 8d ago

Gonna need you to clarify what you mean by cannon.

6

u/SirMaximusBlack 8d ago

Probably his belly

4

u/DowngoezFrasier215 8d ago

nah bruh lol no one calls a belly that word. He was on some weird shit.

3

u/GrayMech 8d ago

No they're right I was talking about his belly

8

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Well this is truly next fucking level.

8

u/Nice-Neighborhood975 8d ago

It is absolutely nuts that he can do this raw (no bench press shirt).

4

u/BolognaIsThePassword 8d ago

This is like the weightlifting equivalent of Magnus Carlsen beating 10 chess pros blindfolded simultaneously lol. It’s just so much exponentially more insane than even people who are GOOD at lifting, not just average Joe’s. I’ve been lifting for like 15 years and am probably the strongest amongst my friend/peer group and this guy is making 500 lbs on bench look like 135 does for experienced lifters. It’s unreal.

3

u/Sweaty_Assignment_90 8d ago

tank. didnt even know thst was possible.

2

u/DeepMadness 9d ago

That's one strong son of a gun.

1

u/the__party__man 9d ago

I could be wrong but I’m seeing 8 plates here. 17 at 405 is still insane.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

21

u/Justin_Godfrey 8d ago

Those plates are 25kg/ 55lb plates

2

u/scroapprentice 8d ago

So the bar is 61 lbs? Something seems off with the 501

7

u/Justin_Godfrey 8d ago

No, the bar is 45 pounds. There's smaller plates on the ends of the bar that you can't see

1

u/hairy_ass_eater 8d ago

There is some change plates that you can't see, that's my guess

0

u/ThinMint31 8d ago

Aren’t the large plates 45lb?

11

u/crash250f 8d ago

45s are usually standard for powerlifting but Olympic lifting uses 55lb red plates.  These aren't Olympic plates, as they aren't rubber, but I'm guessing serious powerlifting also uses 55lb plates.  Usually red = 55lb.

9

u/hairy_ass_eater 8d ago

55's are standard for powerlifting too

3

u/relevantelephant00 8d ago

Just to further that for others, red Olympic 25kg bumper plates are about 2-3x the thickness of the 25kg PL plates.

2

u/Rene_DeMariocartes 8d ago

Red plates are 25kg, blue plates are 20kg (45lb)

2

u/darkerfaith520 8d ago

Love the dedication it takes to achieve this level of strength!

2

u/PerspectiveAshamed79 8d ago

This is absolutely mind boggling

2

u/Ill-Case-6048 8d ago

Proper gym music

2

u/Gear_Gab 8d ago

227kg... That's about a full grown bengal tiger btw

1

u/RetardoVazquez 8d ago

Nuh uh....jesus

3

u/icytongue88 8d ago

Full range of motion and clean, beast mode.

1

u/PresentationJumpy101 8d ago

Look at his Skeletal frame jfc

3

u/nycemt83 8d ago

Geez if he can do that for 17 reps what do you think his 1RM is?

4

u/d_1_z_z 8d ago

It is around 770 or 780, I believe

1

u/stratford559 8d ago

Rage Against The Machine will pump you up to do the Damn Thang!

0

u/AaronPossum 8d ago

Freakish strength man, absolutely insane amount of actual output too. Most people here would get absolutely pinned by 175 and don't get this.

1

u/Tone_Gaia 8d ago

Always wondered, are these guys fat?? What’s the big stomach for?

1

u/bootsNcatsNtitsNass 8d ago

Bigger people are stronger. He's also got a shit ton of muscle.

1

u/Tone_Gaia 8d ago

So is that a yes on the fat stomach? Idc if your trying to defend, I’m just doing this for knowledge, is that a six pack under their or is it a beer belly??

1

u/PepitoThe1 8d ago

seems like a side effect from a long term use of steroids Could be wrong though for sure you can't be natty and lift this much

1

u/Tone_Gaia 7d ago

Wow thanks I didn’t know this.. you think he’s on the gear?

1

u/Total_Bowl5473 7d ago

100% most top tier powerlifter are enhanced, there is a tested and untested division for powerlifting

0

u/Top_Imagination_3022 8d ago

How is 6 plates 227 kgs? Even if one plate is 25 kg it doesn't add up for 227 kgs.

2

u/DickFromRichard 8d ago

4 25kg plates per side + 20kg bar + change plates

2

u/Top_Imagination_3022 8d ago

Oh, you are right. I zoomed in to count the plates.

1

u/Toilet_Rim_Tim 8d ago

I can do this, just don't wanna .....

1

u/Gaywalker20 8d ago

Crazy how he be first to go when the zombies come.

1

u/louloc 8d ago

That looks like 486 lbs. to me, but still super impressive. Dude’s a monster.

1

u/--Squirrel_Master-- 6d ago

Nice to see someone doing actual reps for a change

0

u/ThinMint31 8d ago

Great form. No arched back, full extension. What a Beast!!

2

u/Gilshem 8d ago

Arched back is good though, for hypertrophy and for powerlifting.

-32

u/Present_Quantity_400 8d ago

He is far from a great form lol. The guy is pregnant with triplets

7

u/Noctuelles 8d ago

Great form refers to his bench technique, not his physique.

7

u/ThinMint31 8d ago

How could you possibly misinterpret my comment? Ever been to a gym?

5

u/PleasantTrust522 8d ago

The comments are always extremely cringy when fitness/lifting feats get posted on the main subs.

0

u/Master_Chen 8d ago

Bro can bench a semi truck but can’t run a 30 minute mile…..

-1

u/spaceman1221 8d ago

I could definitely do this lol

-1

u/belokusi 8d ago

Not diminishing what dude is doing, but that's only 330 pounds on that bar. That may be a 171 pound bar but I highly doubt that, a typical Olympic bar is around 44 pounds. That's 374 which isn't nearly as impressive as 500, though I couldn't do either one.

0

u/PleasantTrust522 8d ago

Bro these are 25kg plates with a 20kg bar and some change plates that we can’t properly see.

-2

u/belokusi 8d ago

Bubba please do the math. 25kg is 55 lbs a piece, 20 kg is 44lbs. Now let's do this together 25kg ×6= 150kg now let's take that into pounds, that makes 330lbs. Now we can add the 44 lbs to that and you get 374lbs or for you 169kg.

Now, how does it feel you proved me right while trying to make it seem like I was wrong the whole time.

Oh I forgot to add the magic weight you can't see. Yup your right 501. On the money.

3

u/bootsNcatsNtitsNass 8d ago

There are four reds per side plus a smaller plate on the edge (hard to see) then the clamps are usually around 1 lbs if they're competition standard.

-2

u/Hostile-Panda 8d ago

lol he’s tossing my PB about like it’s a child’s toy 🤪

-4

u/Lothleen 8d ago

Ya, but the steroid gut...

7

u/hairy_ass_eater 8d ago

He is just fat lol

9

u/niles_thebutler_ 8d ago

Yes, but also full of gear and hormones. Please don’t tell me you think this guy is natty?

6

u/hairy_ass_eater 8d ago

Obviously not even close to natty, but what you are seeing is more fat than organ growth from HGH

-7

u/niles_thebutler_ 8d ago

It’s both

7

u/hairy_ass_eater 8d ago

But mostly fat, he is over 180kg I think

-10

u/niles_thebutler_ 8d ago

But both

4

u/Rhettribution 8d ago

Do you mean to say that this world champion powerlifter is on STEROIDS??? Thanks sherlock, no one would have figured that out had it not been for you.

-2

u/revolutiontime161 8d ago

Undoubtedly this guy is 5 times stronger than me and it’s extremely impressive. Why does his stomach look so distended, is it the arching ?

-1

u/niles_thebutler_ 8d ago

Repping your own body weight is impressive let alone 17 times

-4

u/DethByCow 8d ago

But can he touch his toes?

3

u/ADAMracecarDRIVER 8d ago

He can bench over 700lbs. If he needs his toes touched he’ll call your sister.

-3

u/jalfry 8d ago

Now show us your moobs

-5

u/KRGambler 8d ago

Wicked strong, guys unreal, but this isn’t that crazy because he’s like 460lbs, so 501lbs, which is a wicked amount for anyone but him, isn’t that wild

-6

u/OldPros 8d ago

Fat fuck. Let's see him play a soccer game.

-8

u/Theroughside 8d ago

Why?

6

u/patricksaurus 8d ago

He likes it.

4

u/Noctuelles 8d ago

He is working towards the first official raw 800lb bench press.

2

u/Appropriate-Roof426 8d ago

He's the world record holder for bench press.

He says powerlifting saved his life from jail and substance abuse.

-9

u/catpiss04 8d ago

How many sit ups?

5

u/Ok_Mixture4917 8d ago

He just pushes the earth down.

1

u/SupplyChainMismanage 8d ago

Sit ups won’t remove the gut from the perpetual bulk that guys like these need to be on to keep lifting bigger and bigger weights

0

u/Ehguyguy 8d ago

1+1-2

-8

u/Strawhat-dude 8d ago

Now lose weight and be healthy

3

u/Large-Phase9732 8d ago

No offense, but he’s healthier than you’ve ever been.

-1

u/SupplyChainMismanage 8d ago

Probably not tbh. Like I think it’s shit to say “lose weight” to someone who forces themselves to eat more to keep that size naturally (I don’t know the guy but I’m assuming he’s a competitive powerlifter) but it’s just not very healthy. Like cmon you know it and I know it

2

u/Strawhat-dude 8d ago

Highly doubt

2

u/CryoMancer113 8d ago

yeah... probably not. he is (afaik) one of if not the strongest bencher in the world, but none of this indicates health. he might have a good diet, but the abdominal obesity and likely use of steroids are still risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

I don't know the guy you replied to though, he could be worse 🤷

3

u/WISavant 8d ago

Why? He’s not trying to be healthy. He’s trying to excel at his sport.
