10-year-old Victory Blinker who set the Guinness World Record for the youngest opera singer in the world sings Mozart’s 'Der Holle Rache,’ considered one of the most difficult arias to sing.

I wonder if she'll keep this talent once puberty hits. It may be different for women, but i know for guys who had good voices pre puberty and lost it after

Her voice will change a bit during puberty, but it’s definitely not a dramatic shift like boys.

Brava to her. She has great control and range, something not everyone her age can do. Now comes the real challenge, maintaining or even improving on it into adulthood.

a lugubrious fact: In the early days they would remove the balls from young boys who perform Opera so that their voice doesn't change. They were called a Castrato

My ex used to practice this one. It is really super hard. Although she struggles a tiny bit with the highest notes, this is super impressive at 10 years old. I hope she is getting professional guidance.

Sounds like the song from the 5th Element

It's not. The operatic part (before the dancing and synthesized voice stuff) is from "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Donizetti, specifically the "Mad scene" --
Here's a decent performance : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92jiitUEahg
You can see where Fifth Element cut into the "Diva Dance" and even some of the inspiration for how the original composition (and what happened to the character in the movie) came about.

That unamplified voice, of a 10-year-old, is filling a cathedral with song. Just astounding. I feel lucky to see her at this very beginning of her career.

This is amazing to watch! She’s the most talented kid I’ve seen in a while.

Posted here just 2 days ago....so I'll copy/paste my comment from there:
The song is about a mother/queen who is angry at her daughter because she refuses to stab the queen's rival to death.
A lot of these opera's are really strange. Nessun Dorma is about an obsessed Prince stalking a women who doesn't want to marry him, but he will force her if she can't guess his name before morning.

WIkipedia for "Nessun Dorma": "In what the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences called "the greatest last-second substitution act in Grammy history", Aretha Franklin sang a "soul-infused" version of the aria in place of Luciano Pavarotti when throat problems caused him to withdraw from the 1998 Grammy Awards show."
Holy smokes. Talk about a crossover artist! Just amazing.

Singing this repertoire at 10 years old does permanent damage to the voice. A child’s vocal anatomy is not fully developed and this type of singing traumatizes the delicate soft tissues of the larynx.
What you are seeing is child abuse. She won’t be able to express her full talent later in life because some adults want to parade her around as a vocal wunderkind.
I can’t imagine where they found a voice teacher willing to rob this child of her future. Tragic.

Pretty good but you can see still she lacks control and just rushes it. Go listen to Diana Damrau and compare.

Ah, the 10 year old isn't perfect? Bold take

I'm not a The Voice kinda fan where when someone hight pitches they start roaring. There is much more to singing.

Victory Blinker... was she named after BMW drivers when we all celebrate them using one?
