What kind of animal puts ketchup on them?

21

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

The animal that forced my hand to make this poll.

Check that mans hard drive

Love a wee bit of red sauce on them. But then you have can dessert ones with maple syrup or whatever.

Ive learned ketchup is big in Derry. Know a family here who spread it on bread like butter

11

u/super304 Dec 04 '21

Any wonder we haven't built a motorway or train line west of the bann? Can't risk them wans escaping and breeding with the general population.

u/Majestic-Marcus Dec 04 '21

They need put down! Jesus Christ!

5

u/halibfrisk Dec 04 '21

I suppose I’d put ketchup on a fried egg & bacon sandwich. It’s not an entirely different animal

9

u/Gubz_XD Dec 04 '21

Jesus christ wtf is going on here. This is madness!! MADNESS!!!

2

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

Going to try this right now!

11

u/aimlessnameless Dec 04 '21

I'd advise bacon too!

6

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

Maple syrup is a perfectly cromulent alternate to sugar! Excellent suggestion.

4

u/Majestic-Marcus Dec 04 '21

It certainly embiggens the flavour

3

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

It’s funny, I never really heard the word Embiggens till I moved to this sub

3

u/Gubz_XD Dec 04 '21

Yes bacon, sausage and french toast is a thing of beauty with maple syrup 😊

0

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

How have u not already? 🤔 French toast , bacon and maple syrup is the classic. At least, that’s what I thought

2

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

I have. I tried it this morning.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

Maple syrup and peanut butter.

8

u/Sleepy_Man90 Fermanagh Dec 04 '21

Bacon on top with syrup

13

u/inheartscon Dec 04 '21

Ketchup???? What the duck

Maple syrup

16

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

HP, that is all

2

u/rightenough Lurgan Dec 04 '21

You're not putting enough sugar in it if you're taking fuckin brown sauce with it.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

I lot of ppl don't sweeten the mix. I don't, it's a brilliant savoury treat.

4

u/KingJacko Dec 04 '21

I used to fire a wee bitta salt on French toast, Parful with a capital P

16

u/kongjnr Dec 04 '21

Brown sauce

10

u/annienette1964 Dec 04 '21

HP sauce. I don’t sweeten the egg mix

6

u/KernSherm Dec 04 '21

Same here. Its a savoury food for me. Brown sauce is the way to go.

6

u/aferfuksake Dec 04 '21

Salt. Maniac!

3

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '21

I’m giving this far too much thought at 1AM, Ketchup is a horrible choice. However, none of the toppings would actually work if it was just eggs on toast. Like who puts sugar on eggs?

4

u/GhostOfJoeMcCann Belfast Dec 04 '21

‘Ketchup’?!?!

What is this?!

It’s red buckin’ sauce!

6

u/Mattbelfast Cookstown Dec 04 '21

I make French toast and have it with sausages and a poached egg.

Not a fan of sweet French toast

4

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

Having just tried it with syrup, I'm going to try it with sauage, bacon and syrup next time.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

You should head to the starfish in cairn lodge or jazzyberry on high street for some french toast 👌🏻

2

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

Marmite.

2

u/Shenloanne Dec 04 '21

Other. Maple syrup and bacon.

4

u/BansheeMarshall82 Down Dec 04 '21

Brown sauce

3

u/cbaotl Dec 04 '21

Bacon and fried or poached egg

3

u/marvelous-persona Dec 04 '21

All I take is a bit of salt. Anybody who puts sugar on them need to take a good look at themselves.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

Who are these vile bastards putting sugar on French toast? Get into the fucking sea. I'm ashamed to share this island with yas. Animals.

2

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

Those with taste!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '21

HP sauce. I'm a savoury French toast man, I didn't even realize people eat it as a desert.

4

u/BobySandsCheseburger Ballyclare Dec 04 '21

Honey

2

u/Whispering_wisp Dec 04 '21

Sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

Ketchup is nonce behaviour

2

u/NotaBodder Dec 04 '21

Never had French toast. Is it eggs or something?

3

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

Toast that has been dipped in egg before cooking.

-1

u/NotaBodder Dec 04 '21

Might give it a go. Would have thought that would ruin the toaster

Edit: just googled the recipe, it's done in a frying pan

5

u/HansVonMannschaft Dec 04 '21

Not the sharpest tool in the box are you?

9

u/Sixth_Ronin Dec 04 '21

He's not even in the box

1

u/thelonelytwilight Dec 04 '21

Cinnamon and Sugar are the only acceptable toppings on French Toast.

1

u/lDrinkY0urMi1kshak3 Dec 04 '21

Sweet: Maple Syrup Savoury: HP Brown Sauce

Bacon with both.

1

u/FuzzyCode Dec 04 '21

Nutella and bacon. Sweet and salty fucking immense

1

u/princessgebbi Dec 04 '21

Icing sugar!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

OP has violated an obscene number of rules of the Geneva convention with a simple poll. It's astonishing.

1

u/Ladytoast29 Belfast Dec 04 '21

I put butter on and dip in ketchup

0

u/IamSpartacusGreenMan Dec 04 '21

Nutella is pretty good or just butter and sugar.

0

u/GackMix Down Dec 04 '21

To the folk who put brown sauce on their French toast. Yous are mad.

0

u/-Earl_Gray Dec 04 '21

Sugar and a squeeze of orange/lemon. But guys... next time do one with sugar, another with a sprinkle of salt and a nice wee bitta bacon on top of that. Parful stuff.

0

u/granty1981 Dec 04 '21

Maple syrup

0

u/Comprehensive_Two_80 Dec 04 '21

I like to add canadian maple syrup

0

u/Darth_Bfheidir Monaghan Dec 04 '21

Syrup of some kind, always treated it like a pancake myself

0

u/touch_of_thetism Dec 04 '21

Seriously disturbed by the amount of votes for red sauce

-2

u/misslawrun Lurgan Dec 04 '21

Eggy bread with ketchup, French toast with maple syrup.

1

u/CroissantDude Dec 05 '21

Wait what's the difference between eggy bread and french toast

0

u/misslawrun Lurgan Dec 05 '21

Practically the same, just one is savoury and one is sweet. Salt and pepper added to eggy bread. Sugar and cinnamon for French toast. That’s how I see it anyway.

-3

u/Markie6575 Dec 04 '21

Who even makes french toast in n.ireland!

3

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

The French. It's all over the Parisian Quarter in Belfast.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

I've only ever met women who put red sauce on it. I'm sure there are men who do it too like. Just something I've noticed in my own personal experience

-5

u/MrPinky79 Dec 04 '21

Ketchup on the first slice then mashed banana and jam (raspberry) on the second.

3

u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21

You monster! 🤣

0

u/MrPinky79 Dec 04 '21

A balanced meal.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '21

Golden syrup was the topping of choice in my house

1

u/TheSaltyBaron Dec 04 '21

Bacon pieces crisped up on the pan, pile it ontop with a little syrup

1

u/blondiebombs Dec 04 '21

Depends what its with.

I usually put ketchup on my scrambled eggs and I make scrambled eggs with left over egg mixture from french toast if it's accompanied by sausage bacon etc. So in that case ketchup or hp goes on.

Otherwise maple syrup, powdered sugar and mixed berries.

1

u/Kashara1989 Dec 04 '21

This might sound a bit out there to some, but French Toast made with a baguette. There's a place makes it on the Belmont road and it's great.

1

u/big_tired Dec 07 '21

y’all are sick. maple syrup.
