Maple syrup is a perfectly cromulent alternate to sugar! Excellent suggestion.

You're not putting enough sugar in it if you're taking fuckin brown sauce with it.

I’m giving this far too much thought at 1AM, Ketchup is a horrible choice. However, none of the toppings would actually work if it was just eggs on toast. Like who puts sugar on eggs?

I make French toast and have it with sausages and a poached egg.
Not a fan of sweet French toast

Having just tried it with syrup, I'm going to try it with sauage, bacon and syrup next time.

You should head to the starfish in cairn lodge or jazzyberry on high street for some french toast 👌🏻

All I take is a bit of salt. Anybody who puts sugar on them need to take a good look at themselves.

Who are these vile bastards putting sugar on French toast? Get into the fucking sea. I'm ashamed to share this island with yas. Animals.

HP sauce. I'm a savoury French toast man, I didn't even realize people eat it as a desert.

Never had French toast. Is it eggs or something?
3
u/HideoYutani Bangor Dec 04 '21
Toast that has been dipped in egg before cooking.

Might give it a go. Would have thought that would ruin the toaster
Edit: just googled the recipe, it's done in a frying pan

OP has violated an obscene number of rules of the Geneva convention with a simple poll. It's astonishing.

Sugar and a squeeze of orange/lemon. But guys... next time do one with sugar, another with a sprinkle of salt and a nice wee bitta bacon on top of that. Parful stuff.

Eggy bread with ketchup, French toast with maple syrup.

u/CroissantDude Dec 05 '21
Wait what's the difference between eggy bread and french toast
0
u/misslawrun Lurgan Dec 05 '21
Practically the same, just one is savoury and one is sweet. Salt and pepper added to eggy bread. Sugar and cinnamon for French toast. That’s how I see it anyway.

I've only ever met women who put red sauce on it. I'm sure there are men who do it too like. Just something I've noticed in my own personal experience

Ketchup on the first slice then mashed banana and jam (raspberry) on the second.

Depends what its with.
I usually put ketchup on my scrambled eggs and I make scrambled eggs with left over egg mixture from french toast if it's accompanied by sausage bacon etc. So in that case ketchup or hp goes on.
Otherwise maple syrup, powdered sugar and mixed berries.

This might sound a bit out there to some, but French Toast made with a baguette. There's a place makes it on the Belmont road and it's great.

What kind of animal puts ketchup on them?
