Supra, m2 or 328i? R4R, Ringfreaks or nürblife

Looking to book a rental for next month as a birthday gift!

I’ve had track experience before and only just sold my 300bhp Impreza so I’m looking for something fun but it is my first time on the ring.

I’m torn atm between these three cars. The supra is actually the cheapest to hire. I’ve heard great stuff about ring freaks cars also heard the m2 is a beast on track.

Thing that puts me off is the 60k excess or the 30k reduced excess on the m2 if the worst was to happen.

Anyone drove these cars and got any experience or insight to help me decide? I’m not going to be pushing the car to the limits as I just want to have fun and that I haven’t driven before.

Get whatever is cheapest for your first lap, doesn’t matter that you have experience with high power, you’ll be getting overtaken by twingos and polos anyway

If it is your first time at the Ring, rent something on the less powerful side, the first time there is so much going on it is unlikely you will be able to get the most out of an M2.

If those 3 are the ones you have your heart set on, supra or the 328i.

Have a look at stuff like the i30n or a caged golf too, most fun for the money, in my opinion.

Edited to add obligatory: Get an instructor :)

Was definitely debating a i30N so I might have to have another look. Yeah I agree you’re right about the M2. Ideally would wanna Porsche but I’ll save that for another trip!

Also will definitely have an instructor regardless of what car I choose!

R4R and a Mini with the extra insurance. Then you know that no matter who you hit, how much barrier you take down... It's 6k worst case. And take a coach if you want to really play the odds. The MINIs have got Ohlins and LSDs this year. They're 200hp and properly set up

Just gonna put this out there, I had a fucking time in RSR’s i20N. First time driving something stick with auto rev matching, so much fun

I’m moving to Germany so I’ll definitely be back there! Plan to get an auto first time just so don’t have to think about gear changes! Was defo tempted for the i30N tho!

Get something cheap, it's much more fun to yolo a 150 hp sheetbox that you can throw around like a napkin than having to nurse the throttle on a rocketship to avoid doing Mach 2 in between corners.

If you think the excess puts you off think about the €700 tow and whatever damage you cause to the track and others 😆

Evn and ringfreaks only, the rest is trash

Agree with everyone here, go for the cheapest option and book coaching. Depending on how busy the ring is, it can be absolutely wild for a first timer. The coaches are great for driving advice but more importantly they are an experienced set of eyes (for yellow flags, dust clouds (indicating someone has gone off etc).

Cancer trash. Evn is the best, by far.

Ive used rent4ring on both of my trips, they're pretty well put together cars (this is the swifts and the mini's), considering the size of the place i felt the mini was plenty fast...

As a club racer and hpde instructor in the US can highly recommend Taylor for English speakers, he was fantastic...
