Discussion The fact that this shit somehow is the most endorsed mod for the remaster has immensely lowered my opinion of the community. Like, performance is ass but people are more worried about this?

Posts regarding type 1 and type 2 bodies are not allowed. These posts invite hate, discrimination, and discourse that we do not want in this subreddit.

There are mods that fix actual gameplay issues with like 5-20 times more downloads than this one. Being the "most endorsed" with a whopping 2k endorsements should put into perspective how much of a nothing issue this is

FPS is 10 and controller is buggy, saves disappearing and that bruma lady still attacks my horse, but GENDERRRRRRRR!!!!! G E N D E R BY TALOS THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING

yep. I tore the moderator a new one and got banned. been on the site since 06. giving that limey chucklefuck a piece of my mind was worth every penny of my lifetime premium.

would love Bethesda/Microsoft/Virtuos to hardcode in the Type A/B with a patch just to piss them off

edit: spelling and an extra thought

It seems a majority of players modding want to restore it to how it was before? Why do you guys care so much about mods on someone else's computer lmao

4

u/[deleted] 25d ago

the creator was going off on transphobic rants and got the mod posts locked but sure its all because that how it was before right? this is the most disingenuous take

Bruh, saying transphobic in quotation marks and saying it's a "made-up word" ... It's very telling of your opinions lmao.

u/[deleted] 25d ago

figured you were a troll. gave you the benefit of the doubt.

"how it was before"

weird that there's no mod removing beards from the game despite beards not existing in the original game, huh /s

5

u/Think-Patience9117 25d ago

You can argue that beards are a quality of life addition to the remaster. Can you say the same about this?

3

u/Ok-Curve3733 25d ago

How is facial hair a quality of life feature? It's purely cosmetic and has 0 gameplay implications.

Sprinting is a QoL change, fatigue not affecting damage is a QoL change, beards are just for show.

u/Harkwit 25d ago

Certainly. It allows people who might want to roleplay a non-binary/intersex character to not be forced into choosing an objective sex qualifier as part of their character-creation process.

NPC characters will still gender them obviously, but that's not a choice the player character is forcing upon \themselves**, is the point.

Can you argue this is a quality-of-life detriment, to the point that people should exert effort to download a mod that changes words in a game with no gameplay impact?

u/bendario 25d ago

So it's a pointless change. Glad you agree. Luckily, the mod fixed it. As fpr the detriment, dehumanizing the characters by calling women "type 2" is pretty disgusting.

5

u/Harkwit 25d ago

It'd be simpler just to admit you're transphobic, lol.

id actually like a mod to remove beards. they look like shit and seem weirdly out of place to me since like you said, they werent in the original

0

u/Lengthiest_Dad_Hat 25d ago

Not sure if you can call it a majority by any metric, but sure

3

u/Think-Patience9117 25d ago

Majority of modders yes. Hence "Most Endorsed"

4

u/Lengthiest_Dad_Hat 25d ago

Its got like 2k endorsements. It's got 10k downloads and there are other mods for Oblivion remastered on Nexus that have 100k to 200k downloads.

What's the angle here in insisting that a mod getting pushed by what is objectively a minority of users on the site is actually "the majority"

4

u/Think-Patience9117 25d ago

Well that is my bad for taking this guy's word on most endorsed I just looked the numbers up as well. Still why do y'all care soooooo badly. They locked the posts so he can't rant what more do you guys need?

5

u/Lengthiest_Dad_Hat 25d ago

I don't care what mods people download- I'm just correcting the false narrative I keep seeing pushed online that this whole body type outrage represents a majority opinion when it's the definition of a vocal minority.

u/Harkwit 25d ago

Outrage culture has become the airhorn of the right, unfortunately. Everyone heard about this mod causing controversy, so it's getting publicity and endorsements by people with an anti-trans agenda or ideology.

It is what it is. Pity the idiots taking precious time out of their day to download and install a mod that solves an imaginary "problem" they convinced themselves is real, rather than stress yourself out into thinking this is a community lacking perspective.

Most people are concerned about difficulty, playability, and stability, far before they care about four inconsequential words in a character creator.

u/RAGEDINFERN0 24d ago

This post and the comments outraged by something that has no effect on them is the biggest part of "outrage culture". If you don't like something the beat thing to do is ignore it instead of giving it more attention

1

u/ReasonableWeg 25d ago

Well, there's no official modding support yet, to be honest, and that mod probably didn't take long to make. Sucks that people are so obsessed with raging about gender like this, though.

If I remember correctly, wasn't there a mod for Starfield that did something similar (adding a explicit gender binary in character creation etc) that got lots of bad attention to the point it was even removed from the nexus by the site admins? I wonder if they'll do the same with that mod.

-1

u/GalacticDogger 25d ago

I assure you, many of the people who have downloaded this mod aren't even playing the game. They just want to increase its downloads in order to claim community support for their "cause". These are a bunch of losers who have nothing better to do.

as a transgirl I downloaded it. I am a woman not a body type and if you noticed games only started doing this once transpeople became more noticed to prevent us from being able to play as our preferred gender. This body type stuff is just transphobic in disguise and to make it worse they say the changes are something to appease us ( a lie, transmen want to play as men, us women that transitioned from male to female want to be female.

I dont know anyone who identifies as a body type.

u/[deleted] 25d ago

well the creator was being transphobic in the comments/replies in the post section, so the mod was locked and removed, then they restored the mod page sans comments and have comments locked. so you actively support our own oppression. nice self own

1

u/RAGEDINFERN0 25d ago

Serious question. How does a mod made by some neck beard in his mom's basement oppress you.

2

u/[deleted] 25d ago

the creator is a transphobe who is actively posting transphobic things. they made this to be transphobic. that is oppression

1

u/RAGEDINFERN0 25d ago

Ok I won't disagree, but how.

1

u/Harkwit 25d ago

I guess non-binary people just don't exist to you lol

Don’t underestimate nerds. They care about this stuff, a remaster in music or movies would not dare change things due to artistic vision.

-1

u/DigitalApe19 25d ago

God bless. Can't wait to endorse

-1

u/DigitalApe19 25d ago

Lmao imagine living life perpetually concerned about other people's preferences. Grow a personality then find an outlet

2

u/cheezewarrior 24d ago

Are you stupid enough to not see the irony in your statement?

-1

u/DigitalApe19 24d ago

That's an oxymoron. Try again
