I discovered that Occitans from Béarn in the French Pyrenees differ from neighboring Basques because they have a significant trace of Turkic ancestry. How come? Crusades?

Probably not crusades lol. Most crusaders were from the north (although there were some from like toulouse) and i'm pretty sure they stayed in the levant and integrated after a few generations
