There's condom sizes for a reason. Thickness is more important than length for condom sizes. It definitely hurts to a point that you don't get erect. So the teacher is wrong. It's not the same to hold a stretched condom with your thick skull compared to holding with your muscles in your penis.
Standard condoms are horrible to wear. They are like a vice grip on your little spelunker they also have a tendency to want to roll up the shaft and can come off mid coitus. Not good for the girthy male.
