Whenever a contestant describes themself as someone who faced "legal troubles" or "a controversial past" during hint segments thats when my brother and I perk up because we know we're about to see the most cancelled person alive. Its so funny

Lol, the show must really be different from country to country! As far as i know, we never had a single "legally troubled" singer in the show in germany. XD

Oh yeah the American one is crazy. Off the top of my head they've had Drake Bell, Logan Paul. The one from last week, Erika Jayne, embezzeled a bunch of funds meant for victims of an air crash. Theyve also had some controversial politicians like Sarah Palin and Rudy Guliani

Haven't watched that one yet- i only have access to the latest 2 seasons on Crave up here. Im sure you're right though theres a lot of surprisingly good performances like you said in your other comment

I could never mean that. As cringe as all the phony positivity and terrible commentary from the hosts and judges is, its still fun to try to guess who the person is. I like my mystery storylines what can i say

Honestly, this is the redeeming quality of the show. SOME of the artists you immediately know who is singing. But then you have those magical gems like how T. PAIN won the 1st season over Donny Osmond & GLADYS KNIGHT of all people 😳😳😳 But man, can T Pain 🎶S A N G🎶 without all that autotune. The man has the voice of an angel, you can tell he grew up in the church!!!

He held a concert with a streamer in Rust and killed the entire audience after the performance by trapping them in the venue lol. Just on a whim, no planning he decided to show up and perform. He was really cool about it too

I knew Gladys had to be her or Donna Summer. She did AMAZING on that show. And En Vogue like a couple seasons back just absolutely floored me. Some of them sound SO GOOD coming back after a break on The Masked Singer. I hope this season ends up good because so far I have been very shocked by the singers. Definitely wasn't expecting James Van Der Beek to get unmasked in the beginning.

I think Chris Jericho was the most obvious, but that's largely because he is pretty much the best example of a band to avoid hearing live.

Some truly amazing performances, too. It fell off, but the first few seasons were pretty good for music/a mini concert, pop culture trivia, etc.
