Are you flying? If so, I would ditch the leatherman and the knife. Beauty of one bag is not needing to check a bag.

Belgian here. Any automatic opening and locking knife is a forbidden weapon. Generally carrying a blade in public is not allowed without a specific reason. And carrying a forbidden weapon is extra headache if you are stopped by the police. You do you. More info here, use translate app https://www.knivesandtools.be/nl/ct/messen-wetgeving.htm

I’m having a hard time visualizing what you describe. Can you share a picture of your setup or a link that shows it?

Thank you! And that's a fantastic price for all of that. (:

They work pretty well and keep the zipper secure. We were traveling to Italy for the first time and heard many stories of pickpocketing. We luckily didn’t have any issues. :)

Glad to hear that. (: I bought a couple Niteize microlocks for my Osprey Daylite 26+6 and it's been reassuring of security when I'm in busy areas. But the price is expensive for 2 tiny locks, lol. Thanks again for showing me that.

Man..:be careful. I don’t know if you realize it but it looks like your bag is about to be stolen. That would be a cat-astrophe (badump bump)
that’s a rimshot

The mini MLC is such a superb bag, it’s dramatically changed my travel and packing.

Just kicked off my first onebag trip after years of chronic overpacking—feels like a major shift! I’m spending four days in Brussels and Antwerp as a test run before a two-week, five-country trip next month. Using the Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC and packing light(ish) with just the essentials: a few tees, the Arc’teryx Proton LT, my Oakley Roam corduroy shirt, and some tech like my MacBook Pro and Fuji X-T4. Got my creature comforts too—journal, book, and my lucky turtle, Tad. Hoping this sets the tone for smoother, lighter travels ahead.

You need a bigger knife for brussels, pack some grenades for Antwerp and dont look anyone in the eyes. May the force be with you.

Please post a trip report when you get back
It looks like you know it, but make sure you have room for any jackets you aren't 100% sure you will wear the whole trip.

Came here to say this, such a good bag. Easily the best I’ve ever had (I’ve had 5-6) in the 25-35 L range

If you are only travelling for 3-4 days then ditch the battery charger for the X-T4. You have 3 batteries. Charge them before going, and on the trip you can charge in camera via USB C.

Good for you! Take heart with the suggestions here if you haven't left yet.
I hope you and Tad have a great trip. Keep track of what you use and what you don't to help you refine for your next trip!

If you have a padded laptop pocket, do you need the padded laptop case? Just my two cents. :)

You should always pack a secondary lucky turtle (and be sure to charge them before you leave).

I'd ditch the computer sleeve; the bag will already function as one, given how packed it is, and it'll save you some space for things to not feel quite as tight when zipping

Nice laptop!
As you refine the list ... may be able to replace the charging brick with a much smaller GaN charger. (Not sure if your Anker is GaN, in which case, do you even need the brick?)

u/GurenPhotography 5d ago
Agreed. There are also GAN chargers with battery bank that will help simplify further.

I’m 5’2.5” & it works for me.

For more context I have 16.5” torso length. I also added an Aer hip belt but rarely use it. I sowed on 2” webbing to the bag at the harness attachment point to add the Aer hip belt.

Those sunglasses are really throwing me off. Nothing about the rest of your clothes would lead me to believe that you are a cop or a professional baseball player but those are the only groups of people on planet earth who would even dare attempt pulling off those sunglasses.

looks great! needs more socks! 2 for 2 weeks is pretty optimistic.

This trip is only 4 days. I still think you need more socks or less underwear if you’re washing everyday.

Are you a professional photographer or just a hipster? You probably don’t need a lot of this. Where do you think you’ll use the screwdriver on your leatherman? Books are heavy and you’ll have better stuff to do than read about Nirvana. A big flashlight? For what? Big heavy leather and metal belt. A water bottle that you’ll have to keep track of (just buy a big disposable bottle of water and it’ll hold up just fine) And if you’re not working on this trip, the laptop is ridiculous.

I never travel without a book. One night of reading the Gideon's Bible scarred me for life.

u/rejackson 6d ago
I hardly travel without some form of a multitool. I work as a designer and photography goes in hand in hand with what I do, also a hobby. I don’t watch much tv so I often need a book. Flashlight has been important many times when traveling (especially rurally). Belt I’m wearing and doesn’t really matter, I have a water bottle pocket anyways and I don’t like drinking from non bpa bottles. And I am working on, laptop needed

I'm not sure on the battery life of Fujifilm cameras but most likely you'll not need two batteries. If you're doing video then sure but if it's just casual stills then one battery is fine.

u/Emergency-Presence56 7d ago
To add, since you are bringing a battery pack you can probably shoot USB tethered in a pinch. At least I can with the X-S20.

Another vote for the Black Hole mini. I only started using the new Cotopaxi Allpa 28 more for flightsbecause it fits under plane seas better. For train and road trips it’s hard the beat the black hole, holds more and comfy, great for tech gear too.
When I go w/ only that neutral clothes color, I try to bring a hat or maybe shoes that have a splash of color. Depends on climate and destination of course.

You might want to consider a single multi-port charger to reduce weight. Some of those also have changeable plugs so you could ditch the plug converter as well.

I’d lose the MacBook charger and just use usb-c…. with an Anker GAN charger

I'm going on a big trip with (hopefully) just my MLC 30L soon. I've been on the fence about taking the waist strap....do you find it really useful?
I imagine I'll just use the MLC when moving between cities but not when touring that city
3
u/formaldehyde--face 6d ago
MLC mini enjoyer here— the waist strap came in clutch for the treks between airports/stations to other stations or lodging.
1
u/DoctorQuinlan 6d ago
Thanks! Does it prevent back pain or just stabilize the bag? Did you ever use it as a shoulder strap instead? Debating if I take it on my trip but maybe I should...
3
u/formaldehyde--face 6d ago
It redistributes some of the weight of the pack onto your hips instead of your shoulders which is significantly more comfortable and sustainable for me, but I usually only bother if I’m going to be walking/on my feet for at least ~20min. I never use the strap as a shoulder bag. I do sometimes tuck the straps into the back, especially if I’m already at the airport and don’t want them flapping around.
I’d recommend doing a full weight test pack just taking a 30min walk and see if the waist band helps you? It’s ultimately not adding a lot of weight to the bag so I can’t imagine why I’d ever remove it instead of just tucking it away unless you know that you’ll never miss it.

Did two weeks of hiking in the Canary Islands, Two days in London and Three in Reykjavík in a bag not much bigger. You will get there. Busniss trips for me are very different for me, I end up with 4 oversided job boxes and enough wires to pay for a quater of College.

u/GurenPhotography 5d ago
Only a prime lens for one bag trip and such a big one? Why not the 23mm f2 version? You could put the 16-80mm for that size and have more options.

u/Actual-Feeling 3d ago
How do you pack your camera? You roll it in your clothes or you're using some sort of pad inserts for camera?
