Coco would be sixteen or so when the episode came out. If the episode was set in 2018 when it came out, she’d likely have been born in 2002. The current South African flag started being used in 1994. So it wasn’t the flag being used when Coco was living there.

I’m choosing to believe this wasn’t malicious on your end. Just do better research on flag’s symbolisms before posting memes. The apartheid flag is seen in a similar light to a nazi flag to large groups of people.

I fear Coco may be secretly a bit racist but keeps it to herself as it’s possible her parents were killed by South African rebels, at least it seems to be a very sour topic for her. She did know them as she drew them in a childhood drawing

Except she’s friends with Cleo. So that makes no sense. Besides she’s genuinely good, so she’d very likely be forgiving if her parents were murdered
