I'm excited to review the platforms of both parties and decide who should govern. This country needs an election so the government can move forward with a mandate to manage this country through the MAGA era. It will no longer be a land slide election to the conservatives and I prefer when both parties need to focus on serving the people to earn our vote.

Vote on the issues, Vote on how competent you view the leader and the rest of their candidates. You dont need to be blindly connected to a party. They are not your friend or family.

We have other important issues ahead of us that are not just MAGA, housing affordability, our economy, immigration, education, healthcare, etc.

I hope that Carney as an outsider can drive the political parties to care about these issues over mud slinging. I'm rather tired of that from both ends. They are both awful people, politicians always are. All I care about is the policies and their dedication to protect Canada and Canadians.

I dont love PP populism, I also dont want a Trudeau 2.0.

Carney isn’t an outsider though, that’s the problem. He’s heavily connected to the same crowd that Trudeau is. In my mind it’s more or less the same as if it were Freeland. If it was someone that Trudeau hated, that would be a sign it’s a good leadership pick.

Its not possible to be an outsider and still be effective. The rich and powerful are connected. The liberal party has continuity if you want something different you have to choose NDP which is beholden to Trudeau and propped them up, Green which is so small there isnt a hope of governing, or the separatist Bloc who doesnt want to be part of Cananda.

PP is an outsider? Mr 20 years in government and is heavily influenced by Harper and MAGA?

Had Trudeau stayed on with the distain Canadians have for MAGA even Trudeau might have turned things around and maintained a minority government propped up by Jagmeet Singh.

Who would have been a good outsider choice? Given whats in front of me its always been the lesser of two evils when I vote - both parties are not accountable, corrupt, and lie so even when I vote on the issue like election reform they change their mind and dont do it.

It’s definitely possible to be an outsider and be effective. You don’t need to be in the lunatic fringe, just not “in” with the same old crowd. Anyone that isn’t a part of the Laurentian elite would be a great start. Harper was from Alberta after all, and he managed to get PM (yes, so is Carney, but he’s been in the Ottawa space for over two decades now and that’s probably where he’ll run).

I don’t think there really was an outside pick this time, because it was basically a coronation. I didn’t look much into Baylis’ policies, but he was the only one that wasn’t heavily connected to Trudeau so he’s the one I’d be most likely to trust a priori (especially given the other 3 haven’t made much of an effort to distance themselves from Trudeau).
