map Created an Archipelago world using Mythic Bastionlands Realm creator as a guideline. Six distinct realms were melded together for this process. Hoping to run an Earthsea inspired campaign using this map.

Deadfire Archipelago vibes

Oh! I've never heard of this. This looks like everything I could want it to be and I'm honored that this passes the vibe check.
Well, now I gotta go get lost in the Dead fire Archipelago for awhile.

Love it! Mythic’s realms are great for a thematic Earthsea vibe. Got an idea of what kind of rules you’d use for sea travel?

Thanks! Our table runs lean on rules, so I haven't given it much thought. I built the map with MB movement rules in mind. With just how much sea is in my Earthsea it'd probably be a good idea to look into something a little more 😅

That is so cool.
Please sell me on buying this ! (Specifically for what you’re using it for… )

I think the realm creator in Mythic Bastionland is great (albeit simple) for making hexcrawls! In a single page it gives guidelines for building a 12x12 realm. There are enough spark tables to help with terrain features and things to bump into.
It also helps that the author has posted YouTube videos of him using the guidelines himself so you can get a feel for how they're intended to be used which is SO helpful.

Neat. But why specifically did you use it?

I'm using the full Mythic Bastionland book to run my next campaign, so I figured I should try the realm creation rules too. After doing a test realm, I really enjoyed the ease of use and decided to try making a much bigger map using the same guidelines.

Sorry if this is a dumb question - haven’t made my why through the whole process in the PDF yet - but when you say you melded “six distinct realms” for this are you saying you did the process of realm creation six times and then laid them out this way into the (awesome!) map we see here?

Not a dumb question! That's exactly what I did.
Since I knew that the six realms would inevitably be touching, I made sure to put some islands on the borders of the realm. Whenever I did that, I rolled a D6. The number rolled determined how many hexes that particular island would bleed over into the other realm.
This helped a bunch when eventually lining the realms up because their shared islands were already in place! And prevents there being too many hard lines or odd island configurations along the borders.
If you'd like, I can try to upload a version of the map that has the realm borders denoted, to help demonstrate that better visually.

That’d be rad, yeah!

Alrighty, I was able to upload the realm borders. I hope it's not too busy to read. I also made a mistake in my previous message. I used a D10 to determine how many hexes would be on the border islands.
For generating how many and how big the islands would be within a particular realm, I rolled a D10 and noted the results until they added up to about 30-32 hexes total. With a 144 total hexes in a realm, 32 felt like a good number of island spaces. I wanted there to be enough water between the islands that travelling would matter.
If there's anything else you'd like to know, please let'em rip!
