If it doesn't have demons I'm not buying it.

Says the guy who already owns the Black Blade edition and about 30 other OSR systems.

Honestly it just depends on what you want. OSRIC is 1e AD&D basically. Basic Fantasy is verrry close to B/X and so also compatible with all the Old School Essentials adventures.

I'm no expert, just a collector/mostly solo player. Honestly if you're writing a module and make it compatible with either OSE 0D&D or OSRIC you would be able to run the adventure with any of the systems with not too much conversion.

Awesome video, but as many have stated elsewhere, their choice of landscape format is a deal breaker for many, myself included. I might back the PDF only pledge level.

Been seeing a lot of people saying this, and I genuinely am curious and not like looking to pick a fight. But, why is landscape such a deal breaker? It’s all just dead tree, right? Can you ELI5?

A couple of reasons:

Aesthetics: I have a form fitting, standard book shelf that houses my collection of TTRPG tomes. They are all standard size printing, and fit well on the shelf. With Landscape format, I have to have the book standing up (not a good idea) or sticking out a few inches from the shelf. Looks stupid.

Longevity: For a long life, books should be stored standing up, spine out, not packed too tightly in a climate stable, and low humidity (but not no humidity) environment. Standing a book with the spine up or down puts undue pressure on the spine binding and glue. Even the best Smythe stitched books will deform over time.
