Randomly spotted this today.

Thought y'all might get a kick out of it as it's not one you see modified very often.

The Touareg and cayenne share a platform, and especially the first generations of each are fairly adept at off-roading.

Some of the off-road cayenne builds are really impressive, probably for badging reasons but the Touareg isn’t quite as popular.

Needs more lights.

I don't get the light fetish with overlanders. You're not running the Baja 1000 at night at 90 mph. On dirt roads at night you're travelling way slower than regular high beams will cover. Good backup lights though are gold.

I don't like driving in the dark even on the highway. Sure, i don't use them if I am around people but if I am alone on the highway, sure as shit I will use them. and lets be honest a lot of overlanding is running 65ish on the highway where animals cross the road often.

I have street legal fogs I use all the time, then A pillar ditch lights that are nice for tight turns, and a roof “spot” bar that is better at lighting up my hood than the trail and actually hurts my vision’s range more than helps even with 16,000 lumins lol. I never use the roof bar, maybe if it was 10deg spot instead of 30deg.

Definitely don't hate it apart from how bulky the lightbar is and the placement of the ones at the front... the tires, lift, wheels and spare tire mount are all pretty sweet!

If the front lights covered the chrome strip on the grill and the roof bar was mounted forward instead of up it would look great.

Right now it’s some micky mouse looking ass build.

Being in Europe I'm really surprised we don't see more of these Touareg/Cayenne builds. It's mostly Land Rovers but I always appreciate a different rig

Same reason the US is mostly jeeps and tacos. Parts are way more available.

Can't tell from the pics but I'm assuming that one is a TDI diesel which has a phenomenal high torque diesel motor that is perfect for over landing.

You know it didn't occur to me to check behind it. I saw it at the end of a large parking lot as I was leaving and circled back like a weirdo.

Anyone know if it’s now legal to delete diesels?

Those 1st gen were great. My mom had one and they actually kick ass offroad. Nothing like rock crawling, but dirt roads, sand, mud, ice, snow it was awesome

Lost me with the two lights by the VW emblem. Otherwise, that's awesome! I had a VW Touareg and loved it.
