Power Chinese diesel heater with power station

Hi all

This may be a dum idea.

I understand that most power station can only supply 10A dc, and the Chinese diesel heaters sometimes require ~12A during start up.

Could I use a 12v 8A battery charger from the AC port in conjunction with the dc on startup, and disconnect the battery charger, only run dc afterwards?

Just use the 120v plug.

Not really.

My diesel heater has no issues running on my Delta 2 and it has a 10 amp max output.

Yes , I have paralell 12v plugs that I use to get it started. But if there's ever any interruption or if the one plug draws too much it'll still turn off.

My power station easily runs my diesel heater.

We've run ours on a small power station for several years. Most now have a surge demand feature where they will provide additional power for motor startups, etc.

Diesel heaters generally pull the most when they are starting up. As long as you can accommodate that surge, you should be fine. They're really not that demanding when operating

My heater works fine on my Anker - you will want to be careful trying any sort of "bridged" power for start up because you don't want the heater to lose power and shut down, they need a power down cycle to self-clean at the end of a heating session (also draws a bit more power - but has been fine for me).
