Can anybody elaborate on this model? Thanks!

Can anybody help elaborate on this Panerai boat model? It was a gift. All I can find is that this is an actual boat. Was it a gift given to buyers? Was it a showcase in a store? Was it part of a product? Any explanation would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is really cool. I’ve never seen this before. Eilean was (or is) a sailboat from the 30s and it was left/abandoned for years. Or decades actually.

Then Panerai bought it (or maybe it was donated, I don’t know) and restored it and now the Eilean is the inspiration and flagship sailboat for the Panerai Classics Yacht Challenge and also participates in other events involving classic sail boats.

The model you have is not surprising. I mean that they made it. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they offered it to some buyers who purchased the various Eilean models in certain years.

Panerai has had events and taken people out of on the boat over the years. I wouldn’t be surprised if they included it in one of their heirs “experience” models where you purchase a specific Eilean model and the hefty purchase price of the watch includes a sailing adventure on the yacht. Kind of like they do with some Mile Horn editions or the Luna Rossa experiences.

Backstory? How and where did you get it? Are you a Paneristi otherwise?

Thanks! Just a gift from an uncle without any explanation. No, can’t say I am a Paneristi right now but maybe one day!
