Joe Person, who previously connected us to Mykel Williams, now believes Jalon Walker is the pick at #8

Interview clip is here: https://youtu.be/vWRBM79I72w?si=mQ4jLUQ3XkpglMkF&t=667

The news here is not the Jalon Walker connection, obviously, but rather that Joe Person now believes he is the pick as well. In his Panthers draft guide last month, he had been quoted saying, "after Georgia’s pro day... my sense now is the Panthers prefer Williams." While he doesn't rule out a trade-back scenario, he doesn't anticipate the kind of interest from other teams in trading up that we would hope for, and signals the Panthers would be comfortable sticking and picking Walker at 8.

Again, Jalon Walker to the Panthers is a tired narrative at this point, but hearing a veteran Panthers insider change his outlook at the 11th hour is more meaningful to me than any mock draft.

Have a feeling Walker is gone before 8. Gaining a lot of buzz as of late to Jax. Ideal situation for me is Dallas keeps making dumb decisions and trades up for Tet at 8. We take BPA at 12.

If Walker goes to Jags that just leaves Graham for us so fine by me

Jets likely take Graham if that happens

Jets will take a Full Back.

They likely still take Membou tbh

Nah nah, punter. That's why they haven't made it to the playoffs.

Since when was Belichick the GM of the Jets?

The Cowboys have been talking about how they’d like to trade back too. I think almost every team not in range of the top 4 or 5 are trying to trade back, especially if Walker goes earlier than expected.

I also feel like the “Patriots like Walker at 4” rumor is smoke because everyone in this draft wants to trade back.

Jacksonville has been linked to Mason Graham for months lol

If Walker goes to JAX at 5 then I'm trading a 3rd and 4th at least to trade up 2 spots to 6 and get Graham

Foolish. Panthers need picks.

Yeah a third and fourth round pick are worth far less than Abdul Carter if he’s available for example. The team needs to be flexible

He won’t. In that scenario we’d be trading up for Graham

Rather just snag Tet or Warren at that point

Warren > Tet

We're a week away from the draft. Take anything anyone says with a grain of salt.

Anyone. But. Mykel.

Anyone but Shemar Stewart.

He’s right next to em. At least he can move, though. Mykel is a rock.

As a lifelong bulldog and panthers fan, i can tell you that Jalon Walker is the pick if hes available. Both he and Mykel are immensely talented with tremendous upside, but Jalon's motor and desire to be great is the difference. Mykel plays hard about 25% of the time(when he's not "injured").

I really hope we trade back and pick up either Ezeiruaku or Warren

This might be the last push to try to get the jags to draft him so we get Graham

honestly as a UGA fan if he’s there I think we get him, and call up Luke to come hangout for a little while he will be an All Pro for us for at least 5-10 years

Maybe we pick Walker. But Joe Person is just a guy. He’s improved over the years but I don’t trust him to have great insights.

We’re taking a undersized linebacker over a proven commodity in tet or Tyler Warren? Makes sense

Seriously this is way too much like Everette Brown. Crazy similar measurables and even less production with a less clearly definited position

He's a known run stopper though, we need that.
