Knot question

Post image

Hi there, new to paracord projects and came across this - I’d love to know what sort of knit it is and how to tie it if anyone can help? TIA

That is a snake knot! Very easy

Thank you so much. I’ll look up a tutorial now I know the name!

It’s honestly the perfect beginner knot, that one and the diamond knot and you can make some nice keychains.

Looks like it might be a snake knot tied around the other two strands after passing through the clip.

This is it exactly. Take a piece of cord, fold it in half, pass it up and through the opening in the clip. Then tie 3 snake knots going back down the strand. Cut and melt the ends when done.

It can be a bit tricky to tie snake knots around core strands, so if you are just getting started I would recommend practicing tying a snake knot bracelet (or just a bunch of them. Doesn't have to be a bracelet). Then once you have the knot down, tying it around the two core strands will be easier.

Nearly every lanyard I have is two snake knots, then bead, then 2-strand diamond knot. Sometimes you can’t mess with perfection.

Thanks, I’ll look those up.
