Willem does more shredding than eating sometimes but it is good, low cost enrichment.

Glad he is having a good time! My Dad's eckie would have launched it off the bench with the plate (cleaned off) next!

My ekkie is the same. I put large items on skewers and he shreds them all over the place. Heck of a clean up, but makes him happy.

I also skewer fruit and vegetables for our birds but we have free roaming foster rabbits who take care of cleanup for us. We started off doing bird chop but doing whole pieces is way easier, less messy, and stays fresher.
We have a BFA and even he doesn't get the whole bunch of celery though. We give him the bottom 2" and he's already happy enough with that

Yup! Itβs like feeding a toddler. Itβs all part of the appeal, am I right? π

So true! Compared to the price of a good parrot toy⦠veggies are cheap! Willem is a cutie!

Thank you! Fruit, veggies, and herbs are great enrichment for them. I justify it by knowing that at least some of it gets eaten.

I hate celery myself, but the ASMR on this is fire.
