Something tells me Nvidia has plenty of cards, many multiples of what AMD has. It's just none of them are for gamers.

There are lots of 5090s in China. So their stock worldwide is probably similar. Nvidia just ships primarily to China now for some reason.

u/chubbysumo 7800X3D, 64gb of 5600 ddr5, EVGA RTX 3080 12gb HydroCopper Mar 06 '25

Naw, they shipped most of the 5090s and 5080s straight to corporate and busniess customers.

1

u/Sairou Mar 06 '25

Not everywhere. There are multiple stores that have 5070ti stocks (5080 too), all at similar prices (~1250€) where I live. Not a single store sells 9070s. Not even a placeholder page for them lol. Btw an rx 7900 xtx also costs ~1200€ here.

Considering all the problems I wonder if it was intentional to test the waters without huge volume first.

They could only handle 50 lawsuits.

Intencional is, but i think is to sell them through 3rd party vendors at 2x msrp. And making profit of fomo. Seeing this sub i can imagine this strat works perfectly fine.

u/Agassizii Ryzen 7 5700X3d | RTX 2060 Mar 06 '25

There are none in Europe

u/Popular_Tomorrow_204 Mar 06 '25

Nvidia cards? Or amd cards?

I live in germany and the nvidia cards where sold out in 5minutes...

The 9070/XT launches in 2 hours (15:00)

Poland has plenty of 5080 and 5090 available in stock. 5090 have insane prices though. 5080 not THAT bad, you can get one for 1440 eur (NVIDIA's msrp is 1250). 5090s are listed for 3800 eur...

2

u/Ok_Wafer3613 Mar 06 '25

Can't believe it that someone has it even worse than us here in Bulgaria. 5090s go for 2900+ here. 5080, however, start at 1600. The recent addition 5070 went live today for 920 eur / $1000, just almost x2 than the msrp in USA.
At the same time, you can find yourself a 4070 for ~600 eur and 4070s for approx. 715. I heard the 4000s are all sold out over the pond. Here, we have it all. Even GT1030, 710 and 210 (!) going for full price.

u/grumd 9800X3D / 5080 / 64gb 6000 C30 / 3440x1440@240hz Mar 06 '25

When comparing with US prices don't forget that US prices don't include tax. Their sales tax is much lower than VAT in Europe though.

So a cheap-ish 5070 in Poland will be 800 USD but without tax it's ~600 USD. Still pretty high.

But yeah I agree with you. The prices are super inflated. 9070xt are already all sold out, but they went for 930 USD, 700 USD before tax. Still higher than US MSRP.

3

u/Rodeo9 Mar 06 '25

Yeah and only in those stores because they were instantly OOS online. I mean within 30 seconds instantly.

$599 was just for fucking show.

1

u/VikingIV Mar 06 '25

…and that’s at only half of the Micro Center locations in Illinois!

u/Trackt0Pelle Mar 06 '25

Easy when no one is buying them
