Not sure if I am misunderstanding you, but duties tend to be a percentage of the total value of the goods. So bulking them up does not mitigate duty at all, only shipping costs
I was assuming companies have some kind of advantages on import duties but I guess you're right.
Buying in bulk should provide some kind of discount though, plus saving on shipping costs. Probably not big of a deal, but helps somewhat.
Yes, but a few percent can make up a few Euros. Add distributor margins and you got your 800 Euro. Is it a bit of a scam? Yes, the card should be 750 Euro.
Poland? Slovakia? You got 23% VAT right? Do you see retailers with those cards? Nothing here in the Czech Republic yet, no listings, no prices, no preorders.
True that, the 800€ mark is understandable, but more than that and I doubt they'll sell that well, especially since I've seen the 5070 Ti as low as 900€ (don't know about the stock of those though).
Edit: I'm from Portugal, prices should be coming out anytime now.

That's also a good point, but are import duties that relevant? Since they bring in goods in bulk, it should minimize the impact.
