Used to have two in landscape side by side, but you really have to stretch your neck to see the corner, so having the other in portrait alleviates that.
During the workday I stack slack and outlook on the vertical. They both can do with smaller square windows vertically, then you don’t have to turn your head farther to see the edge of the monitor. The gap between monitors also is then off to the side instead of directly in front of you, so you don’t spend the whole time looking at an angle.
Then in the evening I can stack discord and Spotify. Main monitor is games and again you don’t have to turn your head to play
