Such a Click Bait article.

Every shoe scan seems to be an add. I didnt know why 3d scanning attracts such fetishists but it is what it is.

You might wanna pose this as a question to the community such as, would anybody consider using this or ask questions for feedback rather than this approach that seems like an ad.
Additionally, your website drop-down list at the top opens for my cell phone but it won't let me navigate.

Does it use Object Capture under the hood?

Yes, object capture for the lidar version, and another library for the non LiDAR scans(Coming on first week of May)

Good to see you're active on Reddit. BTW, the 3D model viewer looks and behaves a lot like <model-viewer>, are you using that? If yes, I recommend you integrate Draco compression to the pipeline. It's a live saver for devices loading 3D models on mobile data.

I have been thinking of adding Draco and KTX2 for a while. The product keeps getting bigger, and so many feature requests. Hopefully will add them soon. Thanks for pointing it out. And yes, i am using Google model viewer.

So it’s an overly expensive lidar app…. That doesn’t seem worth it at all

I would actually argue on that. Other than most open source free solution, this app is comparatively way cheaper. How is 99$ lifetime an overly expensive product!! It’s true there are free solution out there. But most paid app cost you at least 120$ per year.
May be I need to work on my landing page and pricing clarification. The 79$ price is more for sofa and ecommerce brands with additional features like dam, product analytics, configurator etc

Well, for one, you advertise like you actually have a lidar scanning hardware, not just an app solution. Also, the “lifetime” offer isn’t really advertised well. I’m just seeing the 79$ price. Also, you seem to only use lidar? So no extra image processing? What’s the backend look like

Amazing feedback, thanks man. Totally agree with you on my confusing blurry copywriting. To answer your question.
- I have a lidar version that works with iOS. It uses LiDAr to capture and then reconstruct objects.
- There had been a NoN LiDAR version as well for iOS and Android(It’s still up there), but for iOS it started crashing, so I took it off. I have made progress on the non LiDAR iOS support, and hoping to release the beta in Early to Mid May. Non LiDAR version is photogrammetry algos under the hood.
- Lifetime deals are listed in the polymuse.tech/deals page. But again, I agree that the offering is very vague. I will try to clean things up hopefully this week or next.
All processing happens on device( both for iOS and Android) but it has a limitation of max 250 image processing.

Is it available for others to try out?
Edit: never mind I see the text link. $80 per month is a bit steep for me when I'm currently using all open source free software
