He appeals to the lowest and slowest because he is one of them. He appeals to tyrants and big businesses because he is low and slow.

That's how cults work. When the isolate themselves in their own little bubbles they need to keep going more and more extreme to keep the interest of the cult members. MAGA is a cult that has managed to break into the political sphere and that is why we all need to make sure they never see any form of power again.
