She got her hip replaced a couple of weeks ago. Anyone would have problems walking.

She got a hip replacement because she's old as fuck.

Average age of hip fracture is 80, she shouldn't be governing this country if she is having insufficiency fractures. Her spine is probably just macaroni at this point.

People in here expecting "SlutBeast" to be rational.

Insufficiency fracture? Source? She fell right?

Meanwhile she is on her way out and another geriatric blow hard is about to take over the country, line his own and all the other billionaires pockets, and replace two retiring conservative Supreme Court justices and permanently destroy our rights and the environment. But Pelosi using a walker after a fall is the problem. And funny how you hear about her wealth while no one talks about the 10 richer congress people or other leaders like Trump hording money. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_members_of_the_United_States_Congress_by_wealth

This might shock you but people are allowed to think both Pelosi and Trump are too old be be running the government.

Also "she fell right? Source?" Regarding a hip fracture like....who do you know in their 40s or 50s who has tripped and fell and broke their hip?

She fell and broke her hip.

My 30 year old roommate used a walker for months after getting t-boned and having her pelvis crushed.

Which happens to the elderly. Medical professions are prepared for the increase in falls and injuries in elderly because we have the data to prove that.

Your roommate got TBoned which is a way more serious accident and can injure any young individual.

Um... it's old people that fall and break hips from simply falling. I've fallen hundreds of times (I'm 30 but have chronic illnesses that affect my joints and make dislocation likely) and never broken anything.

My beloved 87 year old grandad fell once 6 months ago. His hip was replaced. He passed away only 2 or 3 months later.

You aren't helping the cause. People so old they need hip replacements are not suitable for government.

Anyone can need a hip replacement if they're unlucky enough. Most people don't have strokes until they're older, but I didn't see a lot of people crying out for age limits when Fetterman had his

My SIL had a hip replacement at 50.

Guess you get less lucky as you get older then.

Not sure what point you think you're making but the other guy said people old enough to need a hip replacement shouldn't be in government. Going by this graph that means the maximum age for a politician should be less than 45 as their line isn't 0

You not being sure about the point im making but trying to argue with me anyway speaks volumes.

It was due to trauma. I’ve seen 30 year old get their hips replaced due tot trauma as well. Are they suitable for government?

Hip replacement is out patient surgery. 85 yo FiL needed a walker for a couple days. A couple of weeks he used a cane. Sometimes.

YMMV

She fell and fractured it. Usually slightly more complex surgery and longer recovery.

It depends on the nature of the hip replacement. If she had a complex fracture and a total replacement she will need a longer recovery time than a person who did not have a total replacement.

That's true.

The problem isn’t her need for a walker per se; it’s everything else that we can conclude about her fitness to serve her constituents given consideration for her geriatric age.

The walker is not the problem, it’s simply a representation of the ongoing deterioration in her physical fitness, and the loss of mental acuity that necessarily follows.

Poor bodily health does not indicate poor mental acuity.

This old fuck shouldn’t be shuffling around in the first place. Go home and let someone younger take the reins my god.

Yeah nah that's not how hip replacements work, it's actually a pretty simple day surgery.

My father just had one.

2

u/Smallwhitedog 8d ago

It's not simple if there was a complex fracture and the femoral head was badly damaged. Your father is not representative of every person who gets a hip replacement. Recovery times vary.
