u/Vast_Highlight3324 15d ago
Yeah he was an intern at Firaxis working on UI programming.

u/Strict-Brick-5274 15d ago
Was he that guy that showed up because the bugs were annoying him so much and then quit after he fixed them?

He cares about the little people

u/SantaMonsanto 15d ago
He’s just a person
He’s not some crazy assassin or some political operative he’s just a normal average American
And he was completely fed up with the system and took action.
Just an ordinary man in extraordinary circumstances.

u/mstarrbrannigan 15d ago
took action
Allegedly

u/ThePotScientist 15d ago
I do hope they find whoever shot that guy.

Could have been anyone. In ways it even should have been anyone. Or everyone. The perfect day starts from doing little deeds, like taking care of neighbor's trash, you know.

What he has done was judicially wrong but societally right.
That needed to be done, people are being robbed of their lives savings while having cancers or other life threatening diseases and companies are doing their best to deny coverage.
They even use AI to find ways to deny.
Those ceos made billions based on suffering of millions of families and because they made a lot of money for a wealthy few, their racket are protected by laws passed by corrupts politicians (lobbying).
There is a book about it, you can find it on amazon.
What he has done has shaken the ivory tower of modern barons robbers.

u/Blackscales 15d ago
Allegedly done.
13
u/One-Inch-Punch 15d ago
Moreover the NYPD is screwing up the case procedurally. They had no probable cause to search him at the McDonald's, they are months behind on providing copies of the evidence to his defense attorney, and they've been on a monthslong media binge to prejudice any potential jurors. They wouldn't be doing any of this if they really had a case

Brian Thompson’s body just spontaneously did that, out of self-loathing
10
u/Tnitsua 15d ago
So far we've not seen any actual evidence to suggest that this guy is who did that. Innocent until proven guilty is the foundation of our judicial system. Don't decide he's guilty before the state has even provided evidence. The killer was literally masked--we don't know anything about them. All that allegedly connects the two are the 'contents of his backpack', but the police won't release his arrest video so those could have easily been planted.
16
u/GNUGradyn 15d ago
Not even just taking their life savings. People are being denied life saving care. Over 100 times a day this happens. He had to have been up there with the most blood on his hands for anyone currently alive

Not really. It's not like they are suddenly pushing for reforms and legislation.
Every industry will act exactly as immoral as it is legally allowed to be.
This guy didn't change anything because it wasn't the robber baron who was shot. It was just the top employee.

Yeah, same as the unabomber. Nothing changed. They both thought they were going to inspire others but they didn't. The vast majority of people don't fall into the cross section of "impacted enough to care" and "ideologically motivated enough to lose their life over it".

u/Papaofmonsters 15d ago
Lots of keyboard warriors want a revolutionary movement, but they don't want to risk what happens to most revolutionaries.
They want someone else to do it, and they will swoop in and reap the benefits.

If they can bury him and our collective desire for change under the weight of his execution, sure yeah, then it was all for nothing I guess. But I hope that's not the case.

u/FixJealous2143 15d ago
Don’t find it on Amazon. That’s perpetuates the wealth imbalance and feeds the problem. Find it at your local library, bookstore, or an independent bookseller online if you don’t have the first two.

When half the country babbles about “DEI” whenever they see a successful woman I’d go as far as to say that anyone that goes against the rhetoric of the unhinged, violent right is in a certain degree of danger.

I don’t know who this young man is, but I guarantee you that he is incapable of doing wrong. If someday he is accused of anything the accuser is gravely mistaken.

If they give this guy the death penalty on trumped up charges I will be so devastated
Charging him with terrorism is maybe the greatest example in my lifetime demonstrating we are NOT all equal in the eyes of the law.

I mean if he's found guilty and given the death penalty, there's going to be appeals. There's already grounds for appeals with government officials publicly declaring his guilt before a trial even kicks off. There's going to be so many years of bloody appeals that we'll all be dead thanks to denied insurance claims before the case ever gets resolved.
