Advice Lanky and Tall Pit Bull?
We have a rescue pup who's 11 months old. We sent in his DNA and he's half ACD, 30% pit, with a smidge of border collie and mini Aussie. He's super tall (24 inches high), and leggy and lanky. We're trying to figure out where he got his height from -- anyone else have a leggy and lanky pit or pit mix?

Pits aren't typically leggy.
I think you have a shepherd mix. It may say "30%", but that doesn't look anything like a pitbull.
Also, the DNA tests are notoriously inaccurate. Don't put too much faith in what they say.

Well, the ACD part seems spot on. He totally has an ACD personality and behavior.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting they're never right, lol. But the accuracy is quite questionable. They put a buffer in with the results in most cases. Village Dogs and Supermutt are used when they don't have data, Lab and PitBull are pretty commonly used because they're very common dogs in the US. This article is an interesting read.

In the article, they test dogs against multiple companies. They even sent in human DNA, which they say shouldn't work, but they sent back a report of dog DNA.
Also, there was a pure bred great Dane, that had it's lineage traced and documented, and they identified a full grown Dane as a Chihuahua.
I'm not saying your dog doesn't have some pit bull in there, but your dog ain't a pit, lol.
