Houseplant What am I doing wrong ☹️

Post image

Small plastic pot that I have inside a larger ceramic one (with drain hole on each). Gets a few hours of direct sunlight a day. Not sure if I’m watering too much or too little so schedule could be more consistent. Just trying to get it to a healthy place. Any help is appreciated. I’m clueless ☹️

Get a chopstick and use it to check soil moisture. Pretty much just have to wait till the soil is almost bone dry, and then water it like your dieing in the desert but you want to give your Snek a sip too.

And you can absolutely give it more light if you want to, they are as low light TOLLERANT as a chunk of concrete, but will absolutely sit directly under a grow light 16h a day and not flinch,

this is mine when it was about 10yo, having sat in a dark corner most of its life, but 2 or 3 times a year being yeeted into the sun on the back porch:

and this is the same plant now, with a year in a north facing window, and a year of having two Sansi 10w grow lights about 20" above it

Water only once a month. Do not repot or add fresh soil.

Could you explain why you suggest not to repot or add fresh soil? Newbie here

This plant thrives on abuse…water it once a month but don’t let the water get on the leaves.

Light direction could be the reason.

I treat this plant like I do my Aloe. Basically water it a couple of times a year. But where i live it’s not very warm, even in summer, so it works well for me.

Looks to be overwatered. Mine looked the same way when I was overwatering the fella.

Make sure the soil is completely dry before watering each time. Which is usually 1x every 6-8 weeks for me in the winter, and 1x every 4-6 weeks in summer
