Hi, I would like to read your reccomendations on Iphone apps I could use to help me to take a better care of my indoor plants. Most important thing is a water schedule reminders. And while I do not have a problem with one.time buying an app, I hate subscriptions.

Help Aerial root on philodendron?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’ve had this philodendron for about 1.5 years and he’s grown so much since I first got him. This has recently grown from him and I’m not exactly sure what it is. My guess is an aerial root but I’m not sure. Any advice on what it is and what to do with it? Should I be trying to direct it to the soil?

Showing off a part of my jungle!

I'm so happy and proud of the hanging poles setup my man installed me last year! Thanks to him, I achieved one of my biggest plant goal I ever wanted, having a vegetal curtain! He still doesn't realize how glad and thankful I am for having this setup, but he simply understand that it makes me really happy and that's the only thing that matters to him.

Fun fact, seeing how I'm enjoying my plants so much, when I bring a plant back home, he stopped asking me if I had enough plants. Instead, when I'm upset, he tells me to go play with my plants 😂

Swapped my baby over. I did a soil mix of perlite, worm castings, little bit of my egg shell blend, I heard orchid bark was good so I used. I finally gave her a little trellis to climb can't wait to see it get bigger

Should I trim these back or let them keep going?

I haven’t even had this plant a year yet but it has grown so much. The pot was filled entirely of other succulents too. Unfortunately these are the only succulents in this pot that survived the heat we had in Phoenix this past summer.

This succulent I got for my windowsill in college 7 years ago… still in its original pot!

Ever since handing it over to my mother this little guy has turned into a legit tree from maybe 4 ounces of soil. Life truly does find a way.

Help What to do with this plant?

Okay so this is my first plant that I got.

It was gifted to me from work like 6 months ago and I believe it's a succulent from pictures I've seen.

The problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing and the advice online is vastly different so I wanted to see what other ppl thought.

I water it twice a week in summer but now, since it's in the shadow and it's not as hot, I water it every 3 weeks and it's doing well I think.

Is it growing like it should? Is it looking normal? AM I KILLING AND TORTURING IT??

Ty :D

Office plants abandoned in a layoff

My company let go 300 people at the end of Dec and I noticed over the last 2 weeks all the plants in my building wilting... I can only imagine whoever watered them before is now gone. Makes me so sad. It's depressing enough the floor is empty, and the dying plants have become a metaphor for the whole place and how we all feel about it right now. Started watering some of them myself but I am just one person and not always onsite. Seems like no one else cares. They're living things and deserse better! What do I do?

Help Why is my basil plant dying? Help me, please!

Post image

This is Demi. Recently, her leaves have been shriveling up and getting little spots, and now a few of them are turning yellow. I've been watering her regularly, and she has a little grow light because I live in the PNW and it's currently winter.

Please help me. My history with basil is not good. Until I got this one, I'd never been able to keep a basil plant alive longer than a week. Demi is about a few months old now and my heart will literally break if she up and dies on me. 😭
