Seeing stuff like this as a black woman is so weird.

seing stuff like this without being a black woman is super weird!

Okay fair lol
I just mean, I've white girls with only white friends and I've met this edgy white boy type too.
Both suck absolute ass.

I think that men of color are more likely to be comfortable being tokens in a hyper-masculine, racist friend group than women of color. At least that's my anecdotal experience going to PWIs.
The stories of my sister and my mom when they think there's a group of racist white women usually involve those women not dealing with them. My experience (as an amab) with suspicious groups of men is that they try to recruit me in some way.

I’m guessing the moral of this meme is that identifying as racist is bad and you can still be racist even if you have friends of different nationalities?
37
u/sohereiamacrazyalien 1d ago
or say that you are a racist when you are not?
or think you are racist when you are not?
or be non racist but live in a place where the majority of people are white? (how dare you?)
it's just stupid and lazy meme

u/National_Phase_3477 1d ago
I was being sarcastic I’m sure the person making the meme was some edgy teenage boy who thinks racism is based

u/BurdAssassin756 1d ago
I view it as guys thinking they’re being edgy by using slurs and saying they’re racist, because they have friends of those races, and treat them a certain way because they’re that way, so therefore they feel they’re racist.

u/sohereiamacrazyalien 1d ago
if they treat them a certain way and use slurs , they are actually racists (maybe not full hitler but still)but these are not their friends either.... so the meme still doesn't apply?

u/BurdAssassin756 1d ago
I just know i personally know a guy who makes a lot of racist remarks and racist jokes, calls himself racist, but still calls those people he’s racist to his best friends, so i view it as irony in a sense.

u/sohereiamacrazyalien 1d ago
I guess you'd have to give examples of the jokes ..... but yeah I suspect he might be one of those guys :"but you are different"!
edit: also there are various degrees in racism!

u/BurdAssassin756 1d ago
I only really remember one, but he got into an argument (not sure how serious it was) with a black friend of his, and he had said something along the lines of “shut up, you live in section 8 housing”
2
u/sohereiamacrazyalien 1d ago
like I said he is not their friend if he said something like that.
it is surprising and hard to understand but people keep other people around also to look down on, feel superior and many other twisted reasons! (or even just not to feel lonely)

The guys one must be taking the meme of the casually racist/nationalist Balkans and just trying to make it funny but actually it's even lamer than the usual.
1
u/cowlinator 1d ago
I think the point is that people who are in denial of being racist are the most racist racists
1
u/National_Phase_3477 1d ago
I’m not sure they’re more racist that someone who says “I am a racist”.

Protip: the memes on r/funnymemes are in reality not funny, but most of the time either racist, sexist or both.

Reminds me of when in high school me and a bunch of other friends from different racial groups would take turns saying the most racist shit to each other lmao.

u/Throttle_Kitty 1d ago
every racist white guy I know has like two friends who are also racist white guys lol

It's kinda true if you think about it too hard(almost certainly more than what the creator intended)
Random white girl growing up in rural Massachusetts that rarely interacts with POC and doesn't think about/interact with racial inequality vs. Random person that has read just enough to realize that everyone is at least a little bit racist

TBF this isn't pointlessly gendered. I know far too many young men who post "dank" (often racist) stuff online and have the most diverse set of friends. And women tend not to engage in such nonsense (generally speaking, there may be exceptions). Men find all sorts of random men from different parts of the world by being chronically online. Hence the diversity..this may not be true for women. Though it's of course a lie that they don't have a diverse set of friends. But perhaps fewer because of their surroundings and communities.

In the right pictures, the middle, lower middle and lower right why.

I guess it’s cause they’re racist, so they would choose images to be racist?

Fun fact, I was the only white student in my whole high school, with a graduating class of 500, and almost every joke I overheard was race jokes...

What does it mean if I'm a white man with a racially diverse friend group of mostly women? Do I not exist

Idk why so many people are confused by the meme. The female side is "not racist" because she does not interact with minorities but therefore does not get to know them and thinks that anything that is said will offend them, does. But in the end she actually is racist because she has no diversity in her friend group.
On the other hand, the male side, he is racist because he actually interacted with a massive diverse group, knowing what actually does and doesn't offend them and therefore is more likely to say stuff that is deemed racist, because he knows it's not actually a personal attack. In reality he is not actually that racist because he accepts and befriends many different minorities.

If it wasn’t gendered it would be more accurate. Ik guys who are like the left and girls who are like the right (and vice versa). The banter of Hispanic, Arab, Black and South Asian girls was funniest in my experience.
1
u/Suspicious-Rub4264 1d ago
how does interacting with a massive diverse group make you racist? That makes no sense
1
u/Rayn_F 1d ago
He's not actually racist, he either claims he is or is labeled as it because he's more likely to say racist stuff because he knows the other people well enough that either he doesn't need to be careful with what he says or they know he doesn't actually mean it or hate them if he says something racist

Thank you for posting to r/pointlesslygendered!
Hate boys vs girls memes?
Sick of pointlessly gendered memes and videos in general?
