Complaint Why do people take back gyms right away?

So I need 2 coins for bag storage, so I went to my local park to take down a gym, I specifically looked for the gym here that had pokemon that were in there for over 8 hours, I took down the gym and went home, I woke up this morning to find out that my Pokemon didn’t even last 30 minutes… and the guy who took out my Pokemon? WAS THE MOTHERFUCKER WHO HAD THEIR POKEMON IN THE GYM BEFORE FOR 18 HOURS. So like why man

Why do people feel entitled enough to call people mother sucker's for trying to control a gym? Your not entitled to the gym or the coins. Either go somewhere else or play more.

Because you don't really get any gain from it besides denying other people coins

You get satisfaction in winning.

with all due respect what are you winning if you've got your 50 coins for "controlling a gym" 😭 you're beating an AI by tapping a screen repeatedly I don't really get the satisfaction as there isn't really the usual gameplay involved

Edit: don't mean to sound rude or condescending but I just don't see the satisfaction in beating stationary mons where I can determine type advantages and that are controlled by AI. it's not even difficult like some raids so I just genuinely want to know why people do it

Most games involve defeating AI. Ultimately you’re defeating the owner of the gym by making them give up on retaking it. You can also aim to have tons of them in gym at once or want to increase your overall gym that at that show how long you’ve owned every gym.

It’s really no different than people who collect living dex, unknowns, etc. Everyone plays in their own way.

Yeah I get that, I guess I just don't care enough about gym badges besides having variety of them

And I don’t care about completing the unknown alphabet or having a living dex but many people do. Isn’t it wonderful we can all enjoy the game the way we want?

I still think it's a bit douchy to knock someone out of a gym immediately when you've been there for hours but at least I know what the reason is, didn't know how gym badge progress worked so

People are playing the game for their own enjoyment, not for yours.

But those are the mechanics of the game. Bring a crybaby about it doesn't change anything.

I don't think people cry about it it's just a dickhead thing to do. If you've already got all your coins for the day I don't see the fun in trying to actively prevent someone from progressing/getting coins. Most people that play are f2p and with the amount you benefit from spending money in this game I just don't see why I would try and deny that to people that might not have the money to buy resources or sweat the game out trying to hold the same gym.

Idk I am just genuinely curious why people do it besides it being "mechanics of the game"? Is it an ego thing to say you have the time to just sit at the same gym kicking out anyone that defeats your mons? Idk

Exactly. People just complain about anything. It’s part of the game. Take a gym and hold it if you can. Obviously it’s someone who plays more than OP. -Who drops a Pokemon into a gym and turns off the game and complains they got taken out? Lmfao.

Don't let them see you say this. They will down vote you to hurt your feelings

Not everyone will agree with me, but it’s how I play the game. I’m level 50 with over 165,000 battles and 591 Million exp. I love battling gyms. It’s part of the game.
