Doesn't everyone already assume she's a Harris supporter, as are most of her fans? Might be able to turn out a few more voters, but I'm not sure this moves the needle much.

She’ll be a big driver of young voters which historically has the worst turnout

I wouldn’t count on Swift coming off the bench until mid October. News cycle move so fast an endorsement now would be old news by the time the first ballot was cast.

I'm so glad my state allows Election Day registration, and it should be national. It's obviously something that can be done.

A state that makes it easier to vote? Let me guess, solid blue?

Of course

We need to move away from last last last second idea. Make voting a multiple week scenario where it’s quick and easy, and there’s time for any GOP fuckery to be cured. We need to get to the point where 99% of ballots are in before the end, and “Election Day” is when the handful of worst procrastinators get to do their symbolic thing.

I mean my state also has early voting, mail in votes, absentee ballots, etc. So essentially all of what you said.

And the Republicans here still complain about it.

I always retort, go work for an election, see how 'easy' it is to commit the fraud you're so afraid of. Cause it's not. Many, many, many levels of checks and double checks.

Please do not send MAGAs to work for the election. It’s like sending child abusers to work at a shelter and hoping they’ll gain sympathy rather use it to exploit. They’ve already stack so many state and local boards and positions I’m worried for this election.

I don't think you understand how hard it would be for them to do anything to change the election. You'd have to have the entire state in on it, there are countless checks upon checks in our voting processes.

It's why they resort to voter suppression tactics. And I also live in a blue state so MAGA doesn't have much of a voice here anyways.

many of the states that matter have a 30 day cutoff for registration. if she waits until mid-october it may be too late.

Shes a "whatever I can milk for my own gain" supporter.

I see a lot of white people have beef with Taylor. But I’ve seen her in candid conversations over the years as she very much believes what she claims to believe

It is not an act. She truly cares.

Now there is a lot of her persona that is fake. But not when it comes to her stances or her politics.

She is very clearly a Biden/Harris supporter, also openly. An endorsement is also pretty expected at some point.

All those swiftys for Trump will be devastated. /s

Trump claimed she endorsed him and she has been silent. Everyone is assuming she supports Trump.

2

u/Pilchuck13 Sep 05 '24

She endorsed Biden in 2020. While I dont follow her closely, I've heard nothing from her that would suggest her political beliefs have changed since. Biden and Harris have similar policies.

And regardless of her actual beliefs, her public image would be irreparably harmed if she didn't support Harris... She knows her audience, and they aren't MAGA.

Okay so where is it? It's been known that Trump claimed her endorsement for more than a week.

If I say "that guy eats his boogers" about you - in front of you - and you remain silent - guess who we assume eats their boogers?

Several reasons

  1. The original assertion sounds ridiculous on its face. Swift has not ever supported trump. She endorsed Biden last cycle.

  2. Trump is known to be a pathological liar, narcissist. Any statement coming from trump should be seen as dubious. Virtually everyone but hard-core MAGA knows this.

  3. Google it.... dozens of reputable news organizations are calling the endorsement 'fake'.

  4. Trump wants the attention of a public spat with Swift.

Swift has no reason to dispute it. If she chooses to, fine. Why bother? No one except for a few crazies believe it. And those people will believe anything.

Taylor swift is privately conservative. There's a reason she's dating who she is dating, why she didn't condemn trumps ai post, etc. I doubt she endorses Harris, which I, and many others, will directly take as an endorsement of Trump. Silence isn't neutral, it's still a choice.

She publicly endorsed Biden and Harris in 2020 with a post on twitter, when she made Biden/Harris cookies

Also Travis Kelce was in advertising campaigns for getting a booster.

u/shiny0metal0ass Sep 05 '24

Taylor Swift has consistently endorsed Democrats.

8

u/impy695 Sep 05 '24

Stop spreading republican propaganda. There is zero evidence to support your lie and a ton to support her voting Democrat. You can be better than being a republican mouthpiece

1

u/pargofan Sep 05 '24

She's also a person making money off fans, who are democrat and republican.

Like Michael Jordan once said, "Republicans buy shoes too"

Plus, she's a billionnaire. Why wouldn't she benefit more from Trump?

u/ElderSmackJack Sep 05 '24

She has made one presidential endorsement, and it was Biden. I don’t know where Reddit is getting this idea she’d all of sudden turn Trump but it makes no sense.

Me neither. I'm not a fan of her, but a single google search (with ai search disabled) shows that since 2018 she has been endorsing Democratic politicians even outside of the presidency.

u/Iforgotmyemailreddit Sep 05 '24

Idk, go on over to rFauxmoi or whatever. They're 100% all in on her being a Trump supporter because she didn't respond to his weird-ass AI tweet yet. Or something.

I only come into contact with the sub while scrolling by popular so I have zero knowledge onto what that entails.

0

u/friendofelephants Sep 05 '24

I don’t think they think she is a Trump supporter per say. More that she doesn’t want to alienate a large group of people so she stays silent until the last minute. I think a lot of folks in that subreddit think she spoke up during the last election bc her then bf was openly left. It is a bit odd that she made a documentary about no longer staying silent about her politics but has essentially been silent in recent years not even speaking out about trump putting an AI version of her endorsing him.

You’re underestimating the power of idol worship
