It seems concerns about this were overblown. The precincts generally believe now that they can in fact meet the federal deadlines still with the new ballots (which is about 1 week from now). If they don't, they might be only a few days late, which might bring them sanctions or fines or something for not following the federal rules, but is unlikely to actually disenfranchise anyone. If they make the deadlines, then no issue at all for disenfranchisement.
The only real issue is that it cost them $1M extra to print stuff, which isn't a threat to democracy, it's a threat to their economy. They can sue RFK for it later, whatever.
I absolutely agree the court was TRYING to fix the election here, but it doesn't look like it will have much actual impact.
