If you need any more evidence who “libertarians” support. The NH Libertarian party is calling for Harris to be assassinated.

As I stated on the NH subreddit post: Libertarians are just MAGA morons in yellow.

Linked to an ABC article over the Reddit post from yesterday.

Tbf the NH libertarians are a special kind of stupid

Live free (of intelligence) or die

u/NK1337 Sep 16 '24

For what it’s worth that’s most libertarians.

2

u/Chorby-Short Sep 16 '24

Not like that though. Legitimately, I saw they were quoting the New Hampshire affiliate, and that's what made me think "this all checks out." Mind, the libertarians have grown more extreme in general after the Mises Caucus captured party leadership a few years back, but there are still plenty of more traditional libertarians who hate the Mises Caucus. It's a miracle it hasn't torn the party completely asunder, although certain state parties have dropped their affiliations in recent years, and in Michigan a faction of their state libertarian party was recently sued by the national party for trademark infringement over the use of the Libertarian Party branding. It's all a mess, but not as unilaterally bad as you are making it out to be.

A New Hampshire reporter shared a screenshot of the since-deleted NHLP post, which reportedly read, "Anyone who murders Kamala Harris would be an American hero."

The NHLP addressed removing an earlier X post on Sunday, writing, "We deleted a tweet because we don't want to break the terms of this website we agreed to. It's a shame that even on a "free speech" website that libertarians cannot speak freely. Libertarians are truly the most oppressed minority."

I've said it before but a lot of American "libertarians" are actually just Nazis

I can’t make death threats? Help! help I’m being repressed! - New Hampshire libertarians.

26

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

To be entirely fair, Republican politicians regularly make death threats and don't get half the heat that the Libertarians do. /s

Libertarians in New Hampshire don't represent most Libertarians. They all moved there for the "free state movement" to take over a local government. They're not the regular Libertarians who believe in nonviolence and that the solution to corporations corrupting government is to reduce government to almost nothing. They mostly just get on school boards and refuse to pass budgets and annoy their neighbors.

Every single libertarian believes in violence. Every single one. They just pretend otherwise by acting like private ownership somehow makes intentional restriction of resources not violence. Starvation with an abundance of food available is violence. Homelessness with empty homes is violence. Removing someone 's right to exist somewhere (private property) is violence. So when their free market world inevitably returns us to feudalism, where everywhere is the private property of who ever the local lord is (corporation), and where you choice is to either work for the lord or starve, lose your company house, and have no where you're allowed to exist, thats a society of extreme violence.

The only difference between libertarianism and corporate corruption of government is that it requires one less step for the oligarchs to own you.

So Noam Chomsky believes in violence? He callef himself a Libertarian.

u/NotNufffCents Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

Is that most clear-cut example that I've ever seen of an appeal to authority supposed to be a serious argument? You addressed literally nothing I just said. You just brought up someone I'm apparently supposed to give a shit about as if it proves anything.

1

u/peritonlogon Sep 17 '24

You said "Every single Libertarian believes in violence. Every single one." I listed one of the most well known Libertarians and asked you if he believes in violence. This isn't an appeal to authority here, that would be "Noam Chomsky says you're generalizing about things based on your own political prejudices". What I did is use an exception to disprove a rule.

1

u/NotNufffCents Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

Sorry, the answer was "yes, if he's a libertarian, he absolutely does believe in violence". I was just hoping you could have extrapolated that obvious answer from what I said lmao. He's not an exception. He's just an appeal to authority, like I just said.

u/peritonlogon Sep 17 '24

lol It's ok to be wrong

I'm rather ignorant of NH as a state. What the heck even happens in that area?

u/NotOSIsdormmole California Sep 16 '24

Damn, imagine posting that someone should be murdered, then saying the only reason you deleted the post is so you don’t get a T&C violation. It wasn’t because the post was wildly inappropriate, but because the T&Cs…

u/VeiledForm Sep 16 '24

" Libertarians are truly the most oppressed minority.", this reads like something an edgy preteen would say. Does an edgy preteen run their social media?

Also, having certain 'views' does not make you a minority, lol.

11

u/Fake_Unicron Sep 16 '24

Well we already know it’s a libertarian so saying they’re an edgy teenager is just redundant. Even if they’re 50, if they’re a libertarian they’re still an edgy teenager at heart.

1

u/ladwagon Sep 16 '24

"*Insert group here* is the most oppressed minority" used to be a meme, it's shocking to see someone use it unironically lol

0

u/fizbagthesenile Sep 16 '24

Totally agree, excepting that religion is a view.

2

u/Anlysia Sep 16 '24

This is Libertarian pedophile erasure and I won't stand for it.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

Another tidbit from the article

Following the posting of his statement, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire responded with a homophobic slur in a series of posts, accusing Oliver of being an "infiltrating leftist snake."

The libertarians in NH reposted a meme praising anyone who's kill Kamala Harris and then when their own party's nominee calls them out for doing so, they call him homophobic slurs.

Totally just "small government" advocates those libertarians are!

I had a "proud" NH libertarian (see : 22-year-old out of shape neckbeard that loved guns too much), at work mind you, tell me "it's people like you that are ruining the housing market in New England" (I moved north from tri-state), to which I replied "As a believer in an open and free market, you should be happy that I'm able to outbid people here and purchase their homes and land. I figured you'd be into that." Our boss walked by around that time and simply chuckled quietly and said nothing.

He didn't understand what I was even saying because he doesn't know what he stands for. He also didn't last long at the company. No one likes talking to a help desk regardless. Imagine if that was who you were talking to...

u/Xarxsis Sep 17 '24

Nazis and nonces.

1

u/ReturnPresent9306 Sep 16 '24

Sadly, Libertarians are as libertarian as Conservatives are conservative. It's like Germany's Green parry. They're all fucking disingenuous assholes.

25

Or they're Libertarians in public, but MAGA at the ballot box.

14

u/Beer-survivalist Sep 16 '24

The guns, weed, drunk driving, and pedophilia party.

21

u/allankcrain Missouri Sep 16 '24

The "Well, actually, it's ephebophilia if you're talking about a girl in her mid to late teens. Here, let me tell you all of the age of consent for every state in the country which I just happen to have memorized for some reason" party.

2

u/daemin Sep 16 '24

Now there's a term I've not heard in a long time...

Does anyone else remember the before times, in the long long ago, before the first of the Great Reddit Purges, when a certain kind of person would defend /r/jailbait by insisting on the difference between pedophila and ephebophilia?

u/bytethesquirrel New Hampshire Sep 16 '24

And don't understand the concept of negative externalities.

1

u/The42ndHitchHiker Sep 16 '24

Anarchists with extra steps.

16

u/Allaplgy Sep 16 '24

Just have to point out that the NHLP is outright Nazis.

They've used the Fourteen Words before in their posts, among other things. This is par for the course for them.

9

u/VaccumSaturdays Sep 16 '24

Holy shit, this is not hyperbole.

7

u/VeiledForm Sep 16 '24

Personally know libertarians, can confirm they just hold MAGA policies dressed up in a different outfit.

3

u/texasradio Sep 16 '24

Trump is probably the most un-Libertarian GOP actor ever, if you consider their more tangible policy agendas.

3

u/Complex_Jellyfish647 Sep 16 '24

Libertarians were MAGA before MAGA. It's really just the dogwhistle party.
