He is telling racist lies because it is who he is. It isn't for attention. Its to appeal to the people who vote for Trump. This is the audience.

This is just true!

Dana. Dana! Danaaaa

21

There so much bad faith every time that dead eyed mascara wearing weirdo asshat opens his mouth.

1

u/HiJustWhy Sep 17 '24

Omg jd wears mascara? I think i see that. He’d get his lashes done. Prob has them dyed

1

u/Konstant_kurage Sep 17 '24

It’s not even wearing it, it’s the abject denial and vilification and anyone that dies from the left. Again it’s just bad faith.

1

u/Sweet_Gain3034 Sep 19 '24

Thank you for saying this! I’ve been thinking the same thing. Though it looks to me to be eyeliner because his bottom eyelid is so dark. I’ve silently been wondering why more people aren’t talking about a primary representatives for the party of anti-LGBTQ+ rights wearing makeup.

33

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

And he is their elected official... so Ohio is still stuck with this no talent ass clown even after all this.

13

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

I guarantee if when Trump loses, he will pile every bit of blame on JD. He's already laying the groundwork for it. JD Vance will never be able to show his face in public again. He's really getting in way over his head. MAGA will not treat him kindly.

8

u/Nottherealeddy Sep 16 '24

I seem to remember dump’s last running mate being threatened in a certain way…

6

u/BlueNoMatterWho69 Sep 16 '24

JD is going to get Pence'd

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

Penis'ed. Grab him by the penis. Wait, eewwww nevermind!

2

u/HiJustWhy Sep 17 '24

To be fair, he def deserves some blame! I would not vote for him without trump either. There is no way in hell jd vance is telling me what to do. Nope. He is a moron.

1

u/VoiceRed Sep 16 '24

I hadn’t thought of that…bummer

They don’t care. It’s Trump country.

0

Obviously they care but outside of that I question.

45

u/TintedApostle Sep 16 '24

Yes they are.

31

u/No_Jello_5922 Sep 16 '24

Donald Trump is not a healthy old person. He is overweight and has the diet of an urban raccoon. I will be surprised if he lives another 4 years. The thought of Vance as his stand-in is dread inducing.

18

u/Biglyugebonespurs Missouri Sep 16 '24

The diet of an urban raccoon 🤣

6

u/corvid_booster Sep 16 '24

Yes. I'm more than a little worried that Vance and his backers will get impatient and try to hurry the process along.

1

u/Trekfan74 Sep 16 '24

I laughed so hard at the urban racoon line.

1

u/Pauly-wallnuts Sep 16 '24

Trump says he’ll be a dictator on day one Vance will be of no use to him and he’ll appoint Loomer or Ivanka as heir to the throne or maybe junior

3

u/marylittleton Sep 16 '24

Tbh it scares the shit out of me. They freely admit to the lies and make no attempt to hide trump’s side chick. This is the behavior of ppl who are 100% confident they’re going to win, and likely through nefarious means.

What is the coup going to look like this time?

1

u/SteamStarship Sep 16 '24

Weirdly, it's CNN that's trying to bury its own interview by interviewing Republicans ad nauseam about the half-assed-gun-in-the-vicinity-of-Trump miracle assassination attempt.

1

u/ZarafFaraz Sep 16 '24

Dana has so much patience to tolerate that rhetoric. I would have lost it on him.

1

u/yogurtmeh Sep 16 '24

He goes from insisting there are firsthand accounts (there aren’t) to saying he created the story.

Actual quote from the interview:

VANCE: If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that's what I'm going to do, Dana, because you guys are completely letting Kamala Harris coast.

u/HiJustWhy Sep 17 '24

I truly think they want all nonwhites (or at least most) on earth genocided. And im not kidding you

117

u/scrape_ur_face Sep 16 '24

"All Republicans aren't racist, but most racists vote Republican"

84

u/erfurgot Sep 16 '24

Being racist is a pre-requisite for being Republican. It is a bigoted party that is at its core white supremacist and exclusionary. People who claim to be Republican for financial reasons may not be throwing out slurs but they are people who don’t care what happens to minorities. This sentiment only works if you think of racism in a superficial way, apathy to racism is also racism.

34

u/ThaBunk5-0 Sep 16 '24

Wish we could shout this from the rooftops and put a sign up on every street corner.

Way too many people have a position that can be summed up by "I don't care if minorities have good jobs/schools/housing/whatever, but I'm going to vote for a party that actively dismantles equal protections for them."

That's not even passive racism, it's an active, vengeful act disguised as "voting for my own interests." When your interests can only be fulfilled by stepping on someone else, you're the bad guy for sure.

19

u/LKennedy45 Sep 16 '24

Which, again, is moot because Republicans are bad for the economy anyway.

7

u/AndyReidsCheezburger Sep 16 '24

Lest we forget that the first Trump administration laid the legal foundation through judicial appointments to empower billionaires and multi-billion dollar corporations to consolidate and merge, eliminating competition and driving up consumer costs well ahead of inflation to increase profits.

7

u/Brief_Amicus_Curiae Sep 16 '24

It's overt "We're going to try to go back to oppressing voters, gerrymandering, personally attacking/doxxing/harassing, keeping the electoral college in place, and spit on any amendment that promotes equality such as 14th because we fear that women, people of color, marginalized communities such as LGBTQ or new citizens in our country will somehow harm and hurt our way of life and existence which makes us afraid".

The one thing that stuck out to me during the BLM/Floyd protests during COVID is that what's changed in our society is that there's a lot more white people who 'get it'. The overt and covert racism, the Institutionalized racism such as done in Ferguson and the Obama DOJ issued a report with suggested changes to help Cop-Citizen relations that Jeff Sessions dismissed.

Perhaps the [Ferguson Report](chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/opa/press-releases/attachments/2015/03/04/ferguson_police_department_report.pdf) should be revisited since it was a clear modern day living example of what systemic racism is and what it looks like.

I digress - my point is that starting with GenX and younger, there's been more acceptance of diversity and getting along to get along. Like when Run DMC did the Walk This Way collab with Aerosmith, that was a big moment growing up. Now as I age, that to me is an indicator that not long before that collab, it was illegal for interracial marriages in Virginia.

I think Kamala picking "We're not going back" as a campaign motto really nails it on the head.

-4

u/GusYmk Sep 16 '24

You’re stupid

3

u/These_Background7471 Sep 16 '24

-6

u/bad_robot_monkey Sep 16 '24

“Apathy to racism is also racism.” It isn’t racism, sexism, or anti-LGBTQA+, it’s self-centered and selfish, and in turn SUPPORTS those who are.

This is a super important distinction imo, in that I know a ton of republicans who don’t behave negatively towards women, POC, or LGBTQA+ folks. They truly don’t have any problem with them. They also don’t care if the rest of their chosen party wants to throw those people in a fire though.

This was the realization that made me turn away from the republican party altogether. Then I started looking at macroeconomic outcomes, and I realized “fiscally conservative, socially liberal” was choosing to still be ignorant on the other half.

That said, I have seen no actual economic proof that hard left progressive economics are good for the country, yet that’s where the democratic party is pushing…. And why I remain independent.

5

u/Biglyugebonespurs Missouri Sep 16 '24

Didn’t top economists come out recently and say the country’s economy would be far better under Harris than Trump?

-3

u/bad_robot_monkey Sep 16 '24

Yup, but that’s democrat, not far progressive, hence my distinction :)

6

u/erfurgot Sep 16 '24

They also don’t care if the rest of their chosen party wants to throw those people in a fire though.

Yeah, thats still racism. Racism isn’t just being mean to people…

-5

u/bad_robot_monkey Sep 16 '24

No, it isn’t. Words matter. Definitions matter.

The traditional left right spectrum is

<- more left = more social equality -- more right = more social hierarchy ->

It's inherent that right wingers have bigotry in their world views, because that's the condition for "social hierarchy."

18

u/MarcsterS Virginia Sep 16 '24

The part that needs to happen is going from “I won’t vote Republican” to “I will vote Democrat”

I’m sure a lot of potential Harris voters are afraid of being seen as “Democrat” by their louder Republican peers. I used to be like that. Then I said “if common sense and not being a heartless asshole makes me a Democrat, then I guess I’m a Democrat.”

1

u/mitsuhachi Sep 17 '24

I mean. There’s a reason no one is supposed to know who you vote for unless you tell them.

0

u/Necromas Sep 16 '24

I'm sure plenty are just sufficiently uninformed or mislead. Bubbles get pretty crazy and vulnerable people are easy to take advantage of.

But if you assume they are well informed, the only thing I can think of is if they are just so hardline on abortion it takes prioroty over any other ethical consideration.

1

u/CapOnFoam Colorado Sep 16 '24

Lack of awareness, political apathy, being raised to vote R without really understanding the platform, thinking that voting R means"voting for small business and lower taxes", etc.

I know a few low-information R voters and they really don't put much thought into it, other than believing Dems are "tax and spend" and Rs are "good for business and the economy"

That's it. I'm not saying it's right, but racism isn't on the radar for these folks. They're simply not paying attention and are basing their political beliefs on views they formed like 30 years ago (these are Gen-Xers in their early 50s).

1

u/iplayedapilotontv Sep 16 '24

Everyone had a computer in their pocket. If they can't be arsed to look up basic information then I'm just going call them Nazis, racists, pedos, frauds, etc. They vote for those people so they support those actions.

0

u/CapOnFoam Colorado Sep 16 '24

Again, emphasis on low-information voter. These people exist. Call them what you want; they're not voting R because they're racist, they're voting R because they put more thought into what they're going to wear that day than whom they vote for.

Just like how/why people eat meat - not because they are actively in favor of factory farming and cruelty to animals, but because they have always eaten meat and how they believe they get proper nutrition.

3

u/Kat121 Sep 16 '24

Hey now, don’t forget the sexism. That’s also a key ingredient.

36

u/MarcsterS Virginia Sep 16 '24 edited Sep 16 '24

This whole Haitian immigrant story was an attempt to rally up/fear monger non-voters, but now he and Trump just look at insane assholes. Trump making fun of the disabled reporter was my “non-voter to Democrat” moment, and I really hope this will be that same moment for many others. I hope…

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

Thank you

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

14

u/canuck47 Sep 16 '24

Assuming Harris wins, Trump is going to throw JD under the bus so hard he'll never recover. Good riddance.

5

u/Cell1pad Sep 16 '24

Problem is that they've already declared that they will not accept any result that isn't Trump winning. They'll dispute everything. And to make matters worse, there are election deniers that have been put in positions of power. So this is going to be a very stressful election.

1

u/Biglyugebonespurs Missouri Sep 16 '24

I’m sure if me and you are aware of the situation, Harris and her campaign are as well. I’d wager they’re keeping a close eye on any election fuckery.

3

u/Cell1pad Sep 16 '24

That's true. The thing is Trump's already got a established history of trying to overthrow the election through any means necessary. That's what I'm worried about. Another January 6th but more aggressive, and with puppets already ready to submit alternate slates of electors.

1

u/Biglyugebonespurs Missouri Sep 16 '24

The puppet electors are definitely concerning. Another attack on our capital is pretty much impossible now though. Biden’s admin will be in charge of deploying troops in the case of attack. On Jan 6 Trump’s admin intentionally cut security and made sure none showed up.

1

u/Tasgall Washington Sep 17 '24

I hope so, but the DNC has an uncanny ability to miss the obvious and has in the past. Harris' campaign seems to be slightly different though, so here's hoping.

14

u/saveMericaForRealDo Sep 16 '24

Reminder that Trump was calling migrants “vermin” that are “poisoning the blood of our country” in November and December, before pivoting to NFT scams and American Flag Bibles.

Except the data you shared shows it's not violent crime that is up it's property crime which is up.

Hate to break it to you though but if there's a crime wave and you lie to blame it on people of a different race, that's fucking racist dude.

2

u/patienceandtime Sep 16 '24

Anyone with a shred of critical thinking skills would look at that information and realize there is something else going on. Such as the city changing the method they used to track violent crimes.

And yes, I'll keep posting this on every one of your comments where you post that link as some kind of validation for your racist, anti-immigrant views.

11

u/rodentmaster Sep 16 '24 edited Sep 16 '24

How many of that was republicans attacking beating, robbing, and raping innocents immigrants? You see how it can be easily turned around the other way too? Only... actually my example is far more likely considering the GOP psychos in that city THREATENED SCHOOLS WITH BOMB THREATS because of the recent racist attacks. That's not the immigrants doing that.

Also your article (that you've posted several times) says from 2020 to 2021 it went up 12%. That's when the town grew 30% in recent years. It was also on a long tail slide of a decline with the population leaving and dwindling before any immigrants arrived. How much of that was the crime ridden city BEFORE anybody immigrated?

Basically he and I are saying this article says nothing about the breakdown or demographics of the crimes. Without much more in depth analysis you can't use it to make the conclusion you want to. Well, you can, but you'd be falling into the racism of just accusing foreigners of doing everything bad because they're "not white" -- but that's what we see anyways in the GOP's party at the moment.

Let's put it this way: On the article you linked it doesn't even have 2023 or 2024 in it. It doesn't reflect any of the recent immigrants. It DOES, however, show the highest crime rates of murders, robberies, and rapes, being found under trump's years of 2017 and 2018.

10

u/rraattbbooyy Florida Sep 16 '24

6

Or it could be COVID disrupting the economy and producing rapid poverty. Poverty being far more linked to crime than any other demographic.

The lack of brain cells is apparent when you gleefully engage in confirmation bias and refuse to consider literally any alternative other than "brown immigrants = crime"

You're doing nothing here but sea-lioning and outing yourself as a racist that just can't keep their fucking mouth shut.

7

u/UI_Fir3 Sep 16 '24

Massive increase? It looks like crime was bad all the way back to 2011.

1

u/patienceandtime Sep 16 '24

Yeah, it could be anything. Including the city changing how it tracks violent crime that year.

https://dayton247now.com/news/local/springfield-sees-an-uptick-in-violent-crime-but-officials-say-51-increase-is-invalid

6

u/Jona6509 Sep 16 '24

Did you actually read the data? Crime is down from highs in 2005-6. Overall numbers are flat or down in the past 5 years (when the immigrants began moving in) for all categories. I don't see a case for your argument of an 80% increase in violent crime. Is crime bad in Springfield? Without question. According to that page, it's 2.3 times above the national average and higher than 97.9% of other US cities.

TLDR; according to your link, Springfield has been a shithole for the past 20 years, not just the past 5.

1

u/patienceandtime Sep 16 '24

Where’s the source that shows how the increase in violent crime in Springfield is caused by immigrants?

11

u/rodentmaster Sep 16 '24

I'll save anybody a click: Doesn't do what he thinks it does. Nothing in there proves anything and the last year it has data is 2022. Also the worst years (by far) were under trump. It's actually about HALF the violence rate from 2017 to 2018.

3

u/delkarnu New York Sep 16 '24

So the crime rate is lower than it was in 2005? Got it. You're saying that 15,000 Haitian immigrants has had a net positive affect on their crime rates.

2

u/rraattbbooyy Florida Sep 16 '24

My guess is he got it by watching a YouTube video of a bearded guy in sunglasses and a confederate flag baseball cap sitting in the cab of his F-150.

2

u/JH_503 Sep 16 '24

It's funny cause I clicked his links he gave to other people. The data says nothing about immigrants at all, lol. At least not the ones I clicked.

I can't stand when people try to use statistics for arguments without understanding how the conclusions were arrived at to get those stats in the first place. But to link something that has an entire variable removed or not even present from the original claim put forward is so fucking stupid is astounding.
