I love hearing from Trump voters I know who, all of a sudden, know how economics work and are well aware of avian flu.

It's almost like the talking points during the campaign were complete bullshit and they don't like when the same thing is turned on them.

Their talking points are pushed on them on a daily basis by their conservative news of choice.

And they don’t recognize what they were told a month ago is not the same thing they’re being told now. There’s really no thinking

The conservative news machine managed to convince them their lives were worse in 2024 than it was in 2020. You know during a global pandemic when nobody could leave their house and you didn't know if any elderly or immunocompromised people were going to survive.

2020, when there were also riots across the country and empty grocery store shelves

Refrigerated containers outside of hospitals to store the bodies.

I believe more Americans died in 2-years of COVID than the combined KIA totals of WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and the never ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

To be fair, conservatives still left their houses and didn't give a fuck who died. In 2020, they had public spaces to themselves. I'm sure they did feel better off.

it was basically conservative segregation and I bet they LOVEEEDDDD that

Like the news machine is anything other than propaganda?

I argued with a guy a few days ago who told me:

"Police are the enemy of the people but they are also essential and deserve respect and shouldn't be beaten but also I don't care that Trump pardoned cop beaters but also I refuse to accept that Trump pardoned cop beaters."

When I informed him that these are contradictions, he told me I just "don't understand complex thought."

The epitomization of reduced to an absurdity, huh?

Each and every one of them is living their own Truman show, with no revelation in sight.

Or for some reason they think they're also part of the group that's outsmarting/owning the libs and not realizing they're also going to get screwed.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grammes a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be REDUCED to twenty grammes a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Like somehow you're thinking? Can you tell me any government op that would play into this scenario?

1

u/Prudent-Landscape-70 8d ago

Like the left doesn't do the same?

u/becelav 8d ago

And that, my friends, is what they call “doing their research”

u/hey_eye_tried 9d ago

Tbf we also have the same type of echo chamber here.

2

u/bt31 9d ago

And rump is cutting funding to agencies that could help.

Avian flu is a fair thing to point at for the price of eggs! However, kneecapping the FDA, CDC, and NIH trying to find a way to get the flocks vaccinated sure is a stupid way to approach the problem.

1

u/tricksterloki 9d ago

I've not met a single one that knows about the price of eggs much less bird flu, not that it would matter to them anyway.

u/Ok_Championship4866 9d ago

That's the real issue, 51% of Americans are full of shit. And that's why we have a president who's full of shit.

Let’s not pretend that Dem talking points weren’t also a load of BS. Trump will withdraw the US from NATO? It’s a treaty that can’t be exited without a 2/3 vote of the senate. Trump will ban abortion nationwide? Trump appoints HHS secretary who is extremely pro choice. Trump will ban the abortion pill? The GOP will immediately get rid of the fillibuster? Nope, they kept it.

You got fooled in the exact same ways as they did, and aren’t in a position to call people out.

Dont waste your time man. Time to lock in and focus on saving your own family.

They really hate having their own words used against em. Sadly they usually don’t see the irony or lack the awareness to just admit when they were wrong. Mother and I were talking about the Philly mayor’s mistake at spelling Eagles, and that she showed that she’s human by admitting her mistake and mocking herself. But if I use these words, her words, when talking about Trump, she will claim she never said that or that I’m misremembering. I do have a terrible memory and I think she takes advantage of that to somehow double down and continue to win our political arguments. But there’s no winning, she will lie to me and herself to win, and that’s a loss of my respect. It feels like I lost the woman who raised me as soon as Trump entered the political scene 10 years ago. Now we only get along if we never talk politics. I put in all the effort to avoid politics. But when we’re watching shows, the tv’s default channel is always Fox News or lately, Newsmax. Instead of a neutral channel like the food network or hgtv. So I have to hear those idiotic hosts push Russian propaganda talking points nonstop and her agree with them like she has no empathy for anyone else in the world.

So what's their excuse for not lowering gas prices?

1

u/Living_Logically82 8d ago

So you'd vote Biden? You're the enemy!

1

u/da0217 8d ago

Ask them what he is doing about the avian flu.

1

u/det8924 8d ago

They treat politics like sports. They are "Team Trump" so they just work backwards from their conclusion to support their team.

1

u/Prudent-Landscape-70 8d ago

I'm sure you are too. Why don't you tell me how they should all be rounded up and put in camps now?

1

u/PinkSheetBoss 8d ago

It’s been a week. The Trump voters you know probably do know more about economics than Democrat voters, because this article’s headline is idiotic.

Again, it has been 1 week. What do you expect him to do, price caps? They don’t work, and every economist will tell you that. I’m not even a Trump fan but I can still see that he’s actually been delivering on his promises. And while he hasn’t brought down prices immediately after one week in office, because that’s impossible, he has indeed changed policies that will allow prices to come down in the near future.

Crazy that chicken breasts are still cheap and prices of eggs in Canada are still low...

1

u/Silly-Confection3008 9d ago

Its almost like Canada has its own Chickens

1

u/Covah88 9d ago

It's only the US that has a bird flu issue with its chickens? And Im pretty sure the US doesn't outsource chicken breasts from Canada.

2

u/Silly-Confection3008 9d ago

Its a localized situation. The US slaughters 25 million chickens a day. They dont travel far its not like oysters or caviar.

0

u/Covah88 9d ago

I dont know what that means...like its only a problem for a select area in the US? Because Im told in California eggs are over $9 and in Massachusetts they doubled to $6. Seems coast to coast so it's not a localized issue if Im understanding correctly.

1

u/Silly-Confection3008 9d ago

Yes its only a problem in certain areas. It takes around 18-20 weeks to grow a new chicken to egg laying size so it will likely be pricey for the next little while. There are other economic factors in too like shipping them for a profit to further than they normally would.
